I will be installing a large cooler and a shift kit. I've worked with Dave before on my 98 GTP it had 165000 on original trans. With cam, headers, heads, methanol injection, 2.8 pulley, etc. With 11.13 best e.t and only did a ZZP shift kit and installed a cooler. I thrased that car for 70000 miles with those mods and it was still shifting when I sold it. Also dealer is going to allow me to bring in my own Raybestos green clutch discs and the tech will install for me for 100.00 into the reman, these guys are awesome. They are warranteeing it without being able to duplicate any of my symptoms.

Stay away from the ZZP shift kit on an LS4 car. The ZZP folks may know about the SC3800 cars, but they don't know **** about the LS4.

Go with a TransGo shift kit!

You can add me to the list. Trans went a couple of weeks ago. My thurst bearings failed and did some severe damage to the trans, as well as the TCC went. Took 3 cases of cleaner to clean my trans of all the aluminum shavings.

You can put me on the total failure list also. I lost the converter and burned all the clutches after my ls6 intake swap.

Default Another one bites the dust...

I got a GM Remanned last September and its already slipping real bad from a slow roll and hesitating between gears (clutch/TC?) Called local GM to sched an appointment and they want me to sign a waiver to pay $800 if they deem the damage "from mis-use or abuse" Unreal!!! Has anyone else heard this crap related to their warranty?? Feels like he's going to pocket the 800 and then bill GM!!

Thanks Guys

Can't say anything specific about these cars, but I have heard that has happened from GM on certain vehicles. G8, cts-v, GTO, camaro/ta and general performance related vehicles.

I still have my stock tranny with a little over 39K on the clock.... I've experienced a few cooky quirks here and there, usually 1st ----> 2nd gear or when I don't wait a second or two going from reverse --> Drive

Is this another cheap avenue GM took with there lineup during these years!?

I've never heard of that. Is there another dealer nearby? I would try a different one, since this does not seem to be a widspread practice.

Added you to the list. Sucks you had a mess to clean-up.

Added you to the list. And yes, this is a prime example of the GM corner-cutting era. Thankfully, that seems to be over, at least on their new cars.

I have a 2007 Grand Prix GXP with 52k miles on it. I just left the dealer today because of transmissions issues. The transmission is slipping around 1500 to 2000 RPM on a slow acceleration up hill. The tech drove it and said he felt what im talking about but it isnt bad enough for them to rip it apart and fix it. So I guess I have to wait for a total failure for them to fix it under the GM major guard warranty. Very disappointed in this issue with GM. I even had my transmission fluid changed at 45k

Angry Oil consumption to transmission clunk to whats next?

I own a 2006 SS Impala that we purchased new. We have had oil consumption issues from early on and have fought the dealership about this issue. They said 1-2qt at every 1500-2000 mile was normal. I have a '99 K1500 Suburban with 150k that doesn't, but what do we know. They have replaced several items with the rings and pistons being the latest. Shortly after they replaced the pistons, I was at a stop light and we experienced the hesitation, engine revved and clunk sound and finally taking off. It has done this twice. We notified the dealership that has been doing all work to our car to get diagnosed. They said the fluid was a little low and that they hooked it up to a diagnostic computer and it shifted normal to manufactures specs. They wrote " Quart Low on fluid, could cause concern. Recommend flushing with new fluid and re-evaluating." I am not a transmission expert but I have driven cars with less fluid and not do that. My Impala just turned over 50k miles with original transmission. Please add me to your list and any help I can get. Thank you.

Add another transmission to the list. I am already on this list, got a new one at 95k and then this one failed at 123k again. They made me pay $3000+ for this new tranny. I am dealing with the district manager and getting nowhere. They won't admit issues with the transmission in any way. I am taking this 3rd transmission (which only has 1,800 miles on it) in for some of the same symptoms already (slips from start occasionally, transmission shutter when going up hills and the constant varying of RPMs while in 4th gear on the highway at part throttle). I will not rest until I am reimbursed for this last transmission....

This will be my last GM car, guaranteed.

Thumbs down

Add three to the list for me- one at 36k miles, another at 75k, and right now getting a third at 93.5k miles. Clearly this is a pos tranny.
