Anyone else have a "noisy" trans?
If I let off the gas the noise is still there but if put in neutral it goes away. The only problem I currently have with the trans is a intermittent slip from a dead stop. It's currently still under factory warranty so, I'm not to concerned with it but it does have me wondering.
If I had to guess, I would say converter, since it goes away in neutral.
Hopefully the whole trans goes soon.

I even brought the car back afterward and the tech rep said it was "normal engagement of the DOD system" and said it was the timing chain.
Check and see if the noise is still there after you give it some brief throttle. The tapping ticking noise will go away in my car at more than partial throttle then once I settle in again at a constant speed there will be a 2-3 second delay before I hear it engage. If there is a delay between when you let off the throttle and when the noise starts, I would guess you have the same issue.
It also goes away if I put it into 2nd or 1st gear in TapShift. It would be very easy to test if you had TapShift...
At any rate hopefully you find the problem, it's not the most pleasant sound to hear especially in the summer with the windows down.
