Default Finally, found cheap and easy way to remove serpentine belt

Finally, found a cheap and easy way to remove the serpentine belt on my 2006 impala SS. Wrap a good hose clamp around the tension shock. Put the screw end low on rear side of shock, wrap over the top and bottom and just tighten the clamp. Works easy and cost just a few cents. I put 2 clamps together. Took me 2 friggin hours to come up with it though. Hope this helps all you guys, makes it real easy.

Greasing the top and bottom of the "shock" makes it easier and also I used a ratchet with extension on the screw for easy access

I've used my largest channel locks in the past, but this seems much safer! Good find.

Another old thread that I'm bringing back... I really like this. Is there any way to convert to a traditional style tensioner?
