I would only do complete straight pipes if I made the pipes bigger for a deeper sound. Like 3 inch pipes would probably sound nice. And maybe throw a single glasspack in place of the resonator to make it less raspy.

so you would recommend a glasspack in stead of the resonator? because ive heard straight piped ones that didnt sound to great, because i think they just chopped the mufflers off and did nothign else

You guys must all be kids. lol... Wicked fast and mellow. Been there done that. My 68 Camaro that ran low 11's . 3" all the way back with straight through mufflers and 3" over the axle tailpipes. Sounded like a 9 second car. With a 355 SBC 530hp. Big lumpy crane roller cam. custom ported 930 Holley double pumper. 11.5:1 comp. custom ported Victor jr. intake, 4.88's, 4500 Hughes converter .. drove it 70 miles to the track at 50 mph at 3300 rpm. I was 26-29 years old. I'm 43 now. That's why I loved my C5 Z06.. low 11.s power didn't sound obnoxious.. In reality a lot of the fast guys up here aren't that loud but run 9's and 10's on boost. nice and whispery. lol

He should just delete the cat and have him get diablew tune and turn off dod. I bet it'll sound nice that way if his mufflers are still in good shape,

I have no cat, resonator still in, dumped right before were the y was in the back. It's ridiculous when cold at idle and anything over 3k. 5am...good morning neighbors LOL i always let it warm up too, it drones inside my house.

Don't you get the stink without the cat? The hi flo cat doesn't cost more than 5 hp. Id go catless if no exhaust stink. My buddies C6 Z had off road pipes stunk like hell.. had to air out my clothes when I got home and take a shower. lol

I think it smells good. But yes when the windows are down and I'm at a light you can typically smell it.
