It's front wheel drive, its got a weak trans to begin with for v8 power, and its inherently at a disadvantaged with its transverse setup. Do i really need anymore then turning it into a 5.3 liter LS6 with a cam and headers? How far do I want to push the FWD before it becomes a pointless money pit. It's a damn shame the G8 didn't stick around for longer because that is what these FWD GXP's should have been. But your right, im really happy so far with how its turning out, I just hope the track times match up to all of what ive invested in it.

I've had plenty of money pits before lol. Back in the day I had a tuned port 305 IROC with a 5 speed. The prices on those parts at the time were very expensive as the cars were new. I did cam, intake, runners, tb, injectors, headers 373 gears centerforce clutch and every other thing under the sun. The mods at that time cost about 7 grand, car ran 13.6 lol. That was on the z rated tires which didn't help but still. I had Tunedport 350 Iroc's and Formula that responded much better to mods.

But you know as we'll as I do videos never really do the full impression. It too some time to fi.do the right exhaust setup being cat less. But finally found it with no drone on a full 3in system.

if you want a less restrictive one but dont want to deal with the smell of a 100 cell cat, they sell a 300 cell count variant that is EPA federal legal up to 5.9L/6000lb, PN 415300

I have to redo all of this because the welds are crap and its touching the underside of the car, but this is what it looks like right now. It has a reducer after the cat. Yes it does bend because it makes up for the cockeyed angle of the Y pipe for whatever reason being that it doesnt sit straight. We had to make a slight bend towards the passenger side of the car to get it to go straight down the tunnel, the issue though is where it touches the catback flange, DP is too short so its pulling the flange up and into the body. Gonna lop the section off after the cat and redo it.

I see they have some with the O2 sensor bung. Would there be any benefit to purchasing one of those models or is it a completely different cat all together? I need to stay emissions compliant. Not doing this anytime soon, just game planning.

It's just for car's that need that sort of thing, you can easily install a o2 bung you can buy off ebay for like 2 bucks, angled or straight.

Once I'm ready for this and acquire all the parts just going to clamp everything, tie it up and have it welded up. There is a welding shop near by and they have a race car, their welds look sick! If I go this route at all. F Body is looking more and more appealing to me.

See i hate f-body's, i think they are horrible relics from the 1990's when GM was at its worst. lol The G8, GTO, CTS-V, GP GXP, G6, chevy SS are all much more appealing cars to me.

Anniversary 2002 SS or Trans am isn't appealing? Wow , you're a tough sell. Love the GTO and G8, both are still too expensive right now to grab and start modding. Cadillac is totally badass, just wouldn't mod that at all. If the goal was just to go fast for the 1/4, Mustang would be first choice(had one, never again)

Your trying to get me banned, but I'll say it . A Cadillac, although it shares many similarities to our cars its still a Cadillac. Like the Corvette, its iconic. Not everyone can (or should )own one. To tear into that is just not my taste, its more of a fast cruiser.
