Thanks, Kyle

It's the hardest car to launch I've ever driven..Too much pedal, either spin or if trac is there, falls on it's face (has a Torque Multiplying safety mechanism in the PCM, if you get TOO much trac to keep the Trans from blowin up), feather it till about 120', although on all my runs from last night, I was spinnin all the way through first, half throttle!!! Too cold, better at around 40-45F and with the sun out

You're not kidding... the thing spins the tires with TC on at 1/4 throttle! Found that out on the street night before last...

Hey tony,

do you use the tap shift or put it in 2nd and shift into 3rd after going thru the traps or leave it in drive

Wicket, I attempted to leave it in drive, believing it would be fine...WRONG, it shifted into third at 5300rpm around 90mph, ran a 14.4 @94mph!! so its all about holding 2nd, and shifting (TapShift) 3rd at just the right time (I do it around 99-100mph) and it seems to bring the best results (102.37,13.6.... one slower time I ran 102.57mph) I don't know how the SS's are gonna react, shifter dosen't work like the TapShift paddles, lightning quick..I've never seen a shift from an "autostick" that was that precise!! without it, I would imagine the SS's won't hit GXP speeds unless you get extremely lucky on the upshift to third, Chevy dropped the ball on that (should be a manumatic mode!!)

Mopars aren't runnin as well as a group, their site claims Hemi's are in the 13's but with mods (PCM, CAI, exhaust, etc.) stock seem to be low 14's, I've seen them run 14.2's & slower but as usual, I know a guy who's friend runs 13.50's (that ol' story, u know how it goes), never seen one breakl 13's, even one with exhaust & CAI (not even breakin 100mph) he said it was Heat Soaked?? then what good is that car, in a race (oh, wait an hour, my car is heat soaked!!??) I hot lapped mine and a friend's and they ran better after the first run!!

At the track I go to watch, there has been an SRT8 300c there often. It runs very low 13s very high 12s with et drags. The car also costs $40k does it not? Its a very sharp looking car, but it is alot of money!

The GXP rips! I am suprised!

yeah, it sucks that it doesnt have the tap shift, ill try putting it in 2nd and then shifting it into 3rd while i go thru the traps, hopefully it wont shift to earlier 1-2.

i was shooting more at the 5.7 hemi mopars, not the srt8 cars. the 5.7 cars seem more comparable to the ls4 cars, right?

In my Impala SS, I found that 2nd gear at 6000rpm is 100mph and comes up at the traps.. If it's in drive it will shift to 3rd at like 5300rpm and will slow to 95mph in the 1/4.. Good luck with getting it out of the hole...

no shifting into 3rd the car will fall on its face.........

I know the impala doesn't have tap shif.......but best thing is to let the car shift into 2nd and then move the Stick into manual mode(tap shift) and ride 2nd gear out. with the GXP you can hold each gear forever.

when I ran my 14.01 in 95 degree weather I knew this car was something good

are you leaving it in 2nd gear from the start so it shifts into 2nd by itself and then shifting into 3rd right when you go thru the traps?

The Driver's side H/L comes out with 1 10mm bolt that once removed lets the H/L pull right out opening up a direct path for the air to enter the factory air intake box..With the H/L in place I ran a 13.811 @100.96, never tried it the night I ran 13.7's and the 13.6 @102.37..Should've to document the actual effect it has, I've been told bigger effect in the heat of summer, not som much in winter, I would tend to agree, b/cause the car felt the same, in and out..Who knows?? It comes out and everyone else did it I guess??

Impressive numbers Tony.

I'd love to see what it takes to get one to wack those SRT 300C's.
