LS4 longevity, how long will it last
I'm contemplating trading my 2002 Camaro SS (only 5300 miles) and my 2000 Pontiac GA GT for a brand new 2006 Impala SS.......yes, i know, but, i'm engaged and in the process of planning a wedding. I really dont want to, but, I have a feeling that eventually, I'll have to sell the SS. I figured that the Impala is the best of both worlds. Anyways, i'm trying to do research on this car and i'm curious to get some opinions as to what you think the longevity of these LS4 cars will be. I ask mostly because of all the computer controlled sensors etc. that are associated with the engine, especially with the DOD and Active Fuel Management that comes with the engine. Does anyone foresee this as being a detriment to the overall longevity of the motor? anything else that you think might make it croak after 75-100k miles? I know that GM does EXTENSIVE testing on these engines/cars but, the only true test is you, the daily user of them.
thank you for your input

tranny likes to be over 110 degrees before it wants to shift right. brakes squeak, but you only need to worry about this if you have a gxp.
aside from this. not one hiccup to date

If you're looking to buy and mod heavily, you may want to reconsider a 2007+
