Killing Stability Control

Disabiling Stability Controll

This has been talked about on Club-GP alot and I was wondering if anyone here has tried it. It's for the GXPs but maybe the Monte/Impala's can do it to. Alot more people over here seem to have some form of scanner/tuner and I was thinking maybe someone could try this with a befoer and after scan to see if it does anything at all. Any help here would be great.

I don't believe we have stability control on the IMPs/MCs

Nope...just traction control.

Only Grand Prix GXPs does have that. And I have been able to disable it pressing hold TC button for 8 sec.

Yeah they always hide those shut off features lol TB-SS's are the same way, hold the somewhat hidden TC button on the shifter and it will shut it off too. Vette's too with entering competition driving mode by punching the active handling button twice in a row.

Tried that the other night on my Monte, didn't work. Woulda figured it would be in there somewhere.

Cheers to the engineers out there that put "easter eggs" in automotive software!

Yeah I have been doing that also, but people are saying that if you disable the Stability control then it kills some of the torque management in the car/PCM and that's why I put up here that if someone had a scanner then they could try it and see if it does anything at all for TM or if all it does is turns off SC. Any takers with a scanner out there, this would be a hugh finding for the GXP community if this DID kill TM.
