Default Spring/Rocker/Push rod install pics

OK got the comp 918's and 7.400 push rods in, so i decided to tackle this one tonight... Now you can also see the HS rockers mounted up!

Got them all swapped out in about 2 hours. Basically what i did to hold the valves up was took all the plugs out and stuck a 3/8" allen wrench in the pulley shaft for the power steering pump which i was then able to easily rotate the motor over via the belt since the crank pulley is not really accessable. I used the Crane Cams spring compressor for this. The rear cyl closest to pass side is right under the alternator and is a complete bitch, its alot 0f blind work.

Its now snowing pretty good here so no major testing could be done yet, it now has throttle responce like lightning and driving it thus far seems to be an absolute torque monster with the new springs.

Enjoi!

Here is a quick vid from this morning with a 50-100 roll on getting on to the highway this morning. Just a guage shot of the run.

The roads are wet so anything slower and it just spins. But this is up hill BTW!!!! It really start moving once above 4500!! You can hear the car pretty good and it only takes 7 seconds to gain 50 mph at speed, that takes some ponies.

I have not had an oppertunity to tune it yet and get the shift points to 6500 as the roads are **** lol

Very nice Badd, Very nice indeed. I have to keep telling myself that I'm not gonna play with the wifes car, but you and Area are making it really hard to stay away from it.

ya know, someone's gotta do it, you just have two nutcases who are doing it.

BADD, you're making it harder to play catch up man!.
why 918's instead of the ls6 spring?

i expect a full detailed report on my desk in the morning, with a tps cover sheet

if i get my car back before this weekend, the rockers are goin on.

Maybe this weekend the LS2 cam may go in...

I also just completed the motor mount flip too about 10 min ago. Wow what a diff! Now even more wheel spin! Bwhahahaahahahah Throttle responce is just brutal!

I suggest doing this mod if you havent already. All you do is rotate that top square motor mount in its braket to so when the motor pulls on the mount it pulls on the solid rubber portion instead of the open windows of the mount like in the stock posistion which allows like a 1/2" of flex.

The two arrows point tothe two mount bolts that need to come out completley. Then once the dog bone is out of the way take one bolt and nut and tighten it inside of that rubber mount thats in the bracket on the red radiator support and tighten it well!

Now spray some WD 40 around the whole diameter and both sides of the that rubber bushing on the bracket still on the car then take your ratchet and 15mm wrench and rotate both at the same ttime twoards the engine till that mount spins inside the bracket and the solid rubber section is facing front and rear and the open windows up and down. Reassemble and test it out.

Lol area... do you even READ any of my posts? I stated it was an LS2 cam, which has the same specs of an 01' Z06 cam.

Rockers:390, Springs 170, pushrods 115. 180 for the down pipe, 200 for HPT credits, round 8" k&N and clear GTP air box-free

Did you do a catless DP? Virginia has emmissions every couple of years so I need a cat. Hogan with hi flow cat is something like $300 I think.

Nice though. Sub $1k and you've got marked improvement.

I am taking all kinds of notes

See i would loooooove to start upgrading the valvetrain myself but the only thing thats stopping me would be the 100K 8 year warrenty i spent lots of money on. Correct me if im wrong but that would most deffinetly void that, Right?
