Thumbs up Review: Goodyear Eagle F1-A/S Tires

Well, as some of you know, I have had 3 Monte Carlo SS cars over the past 6 years. 2002 Monte SS, 2004 Monte SS S/C and now my 07 Monte SS. All of these cars came with Eagle RSA's. All within the first 200 miles i changed them out to something else due to the lack of performance and handling.

On to my 07 Monte Carlo SS: With so much TQ and the way the car will get loose very quickly, I started to look for a new tire that would give back the grip and response this car should have from day 1. I am a HUGE Michelin fan and I have always used the Pliot Sport A/S tires until I saw the new F-1 A/S tires. Honestly, at first I really didnt know what to think, because my view on all a/s tires from goodyear minus the triple treads are not that great. After seeing this tire and looking over the design, goodyears take on why they made it and how it works, I figured I would give them a shot.

WHen I first got them installed, I could tell right away the handling was better. Also from a dead stop, I found it harder to get the tires to loose control vs the RSA's. In the rain, the tires give you a great piece of mind when doing 70-80 on the highway. One night I was coming home from work, and it was pouring out. Someone cut infront of me and I had to hit the brakes hard. If I had the RSA's I wouldve hit them, but with the F1 A/S tires, they really did a great job in stopping quick without skidding.

I will do a follow up review on these tires after the winter comes and goes, but I am hoping that they are just as good if not better then the Pliot Sport A/S I had on my 04. After the 1400 miles I have put on them with heavy driving, they still have 10/32" on them and very little signs of wear.

If A Tire Could Get Rid Of Spin The Way You Say It Can.. And Add More Traction At Take Off. That's Going To Get Rid Of A Lot Of Complaints In Here For These Cars. It'll Also Make A Few Happier At The Track.

Trust me, these are the best tires for our cars hands down. I will get pics after I get the car back from the dealer...

If you go to the Goodyear site and look up f-1 AS you can print a $40 rebate form there for a Set of 4 tires.
Or get $80 rebate if you pay for them with a Goodyear credit card if youz gots one.

these look like awesome tires... plus they have higher treadwear/temp ratings than the original RS-A's and Pilot Sport AS's, and are cheaper too which is surprising...

You could use those, but for most of us, we have to drive in winter weather, so we need the a/s. These are awesome tires. When I get ym car back from the dealer AGAIN ... I will try and post pics.

the RSA's are crap. When I got my KDWII's it felt like I was driving a F1 car--night and day difference.

Come on guys, everyone knows that Bridgestone makes THE best tires.

Yes, I work for Bridgestone/Firestone.

You do know that UTQG ratings are only comparable within each manufacturer's product line. Yes you can compare the RS-A's and the F1's, because Goodyear makes both of them, but you can't use those same UTQG ratings to compare them to Michelins.

I'am with you on that I've tried 3 sets of different tires on my GXP and by far the stock ones worked the best, for stock tires I pulled out several 2.00 60 foot times.....to bad their almost $300 per tire.

The pics on SAMSCLUB show them as : 235/50ZR18 NT 97Y BFGoodrich® g-Force T/A® KDW. Too bad I need an A/S tire. They look sticky.
