Default Got smoked by a M3 last night ahh.....

I don't want to get into the details of the race, but it was a mid 90's BMW M3 four door with a stick and gutted interior. Leaving my car in 2nd and going 50 he kept getting the pull and from a dead stop it was like I left the light in reverse! What the heck is up with these cars are they really that fast?
I did however kill a 98 Cobra from 60 4x

so you went from a 50 roll against the m3? if so that is why... our cars are pigs at 50. you are the bottom of 2nd. hell at that speed i raced a civic si and he was keeping up at that rpm range then i left him at 65+. from a dead stop idk what happened there. he most likely wasn't stock. a stock m3 in 1995 was hitting 14.2. http://www.dragtimes.com/BMW-M3-Timeslip-8105.html

They were quick cars. Stock vs. stock the numbers are pretty close to what the LS4 cars put up. And he probably wasn't stock so the outcome seems about right.

Like they said. You saw it yourself. Anyone willing to gut the inside of a perfectly good car to go fast, is most likely going to go pretty damn fast! I.E. There is more under the hood to account for that weight loss.

Most ricers don't count, they still go slow. Accept those that are turbo'd.

Well 40-50 MPH is pretty much the graveyard in these cars...so that justifies you getting walked, and an M3 is a M6, so he can hold it in gear.

Like magna said, he probably was packin' something under the hood, nobody guts a stock car just to be fast....

I certianly wouldnt worry about it. Stock for stock that thing wouldn stand achance...240 hp and zero torque versus the same weight? We are a hell of a lot faster. let him have his fun.

I guess its just my ego or something but it still bothers me. I talked to the guy and he said he was all stock.

I have a friend with a 2002 Z06 with over 550hp. He tells EVERYONE that he is stock. You can barely hear his SC whine and his exhaust. That's the way a racer tries to make you think your car is slow. Oldest trick in the book...

4DR M3?? Not sure they made those! But I've seen plenty 4drs with M3 nose and badges? Anyways, if it's gutted, and you really don't know if it's stock (stock what, M3 motor, M5 motor?) it probably quicker than a low 13, are you quicker than that? That interior gotta be worth 4-500lbs depending on how far he went! My friends 02 M3 goes 13.4 110mph, so there not that slow, of course it depends on what you compare it too! Sorry about the loss, get'em next time!

Basic bolt ons wouldn't be enough to stop that guy. I couldn't get the jump on him from the dig either and I hooked up. He just took off like a bat out of hell, and kept pulling! My car runs 13.9s pretty consistently so he's gotta be low 13's. He really got me going when he said that he was all stock so thats the only reason why I started this thread. Stock my ***! Those cars come stock with no interior?

I would think that the gutted interior alone has to be worth alot of tenths. Can you imagine how heavy BMW interiors must be? He probably has a sick power to weight ratio, even if his motor was stock.

Yes, they did make a 4 door M3 for a short time in that body style. It skipped the next generation however they are bringing back the 4 door M3 for the 2009 model year.

With a 14.2 stock and with no interior it should have been a drivers race with both cars being about equal. I wonder what he did to make it go like that? I heard no blow off valve or supercharger whine. He beat every car that night.
