Default Muffler shop exhaust

I'm going to replace my entire exhaust system starting with the hogan downpipe, removing the resonator and into two corsa mufflers. I'm going to have a local muffler shop do it all.

Once I get the downpipe on, will I be able to use 3" pipe all the way to the mufflers or will i have to stay with the 2.5"?

I guess you could go with 3" but I'm sure most will recommend to keep 2.5" but what do I know. The downpipe is the main restriction in our exhaust. Make sure to get a sound clip I'm interested to see how Corsa's will sound on there. What are you doing for tips?

Go 2.5", but make sure its at least 304 if not 409 stainless steel pipes.

I'll probably just go with a magnaflow exhaust tip.. i haven't found any corsa tips but since the hogan downpipe has a magnaflow cat converter in it.. i'll just use that tip

Our downpipes are really very free flowing. It was the old L36/L67/L32 cars that had a problem with the downpipe.

So you guys are saying to run 2.5 inch pipe back from the downpipe to the y to the mufflers and out? I thought originally a lotta ppl on here were running 3 inch into a 2.5 inch y and into 2.5 mufflers and out. What diameters are you guys running from the downpipe back, into the y, into mufflers and out? I'm gonna go with the hogan catted down pipe and custom exhaust soon. Just trying to figure out what I'm gonna go with diameter wise. Thanx.

Although we do not have a major resitriction with a "U-bend" like the 3800 cars we do share a pretty significant restriction at the "flex neck" of the stock DP. Compare the stock opening at the mouth of the stock DP to that of a the 3" DP and there is a pretty significant difference.
