When I plan on getting my springs (whether SSC or another manufacturer), I also plan on dropping my tire profile from stock 255/45-18 (114.75 mm) to 255/35-18 (89.25 mm); a full inch and some (25.5 mm = ~1.00393701") I saw some 255/35-18's on an S63 AMG and they looked good.

My two questions are: Are there other manufacturers that make lowering springs for our cars (besides those on eBay)? With a lower profile, would I need/want a slightly lower drop (> 1.7")?

here are the pics i promised you guys also note that the car is fully loaded with dual subs in the back which are pretty heavy and luggage there wasnt enough room for the extra bags so we put some in the back seat as well!
anything lower than a 1.7 - 1.8 drop is too much in my opinion...the drop on SSC's are perfect
P.S we were on a road trip to montreal!
i had to change the struts here...the factory ones died as the roads here are terrible in monte

Damn that rear is tuckin. My rear end sags a little bit more because of my sub box (huge dual 10" box).

Side exit. I believe I have the best flowing LS4 exhaust out there, however.

Thanks, but 1.6 and 1.3 are < 1.7.

I'm looking for springs that have a > (greater than) 1.7" drop.

Default struts?

Thanks for all the great reads/photos. I have my choices narrowed down between the SSC and H&R (since its .3 inch higher in the rear).

1. My main question is this; does anybody have any advice on some struts that I can get that will have a normal life span with these lowering springs?...my 06 SS has about 60k. Stock everything on the suspension.

2. Does anybody know how the H&R ride compares to the SSC ride?

3. Does anybody with a lowering kit notice dragging of the exhaust tips? I JUST bought magnaflow, and i don't wanna F it to already!

thanks!

SSC is simply wholesale. That's why you cannot purchase a set on their website.

I called H & R today and was told they never produced this spring. They did not get enough interest to produce them. Too bad as I have these on another car and I like them

So I bought the SSC springs for my 08 SS. The front springs have one more coil but are shorter than the stock spring (not installed). The rear springs have 1.5 less coils than the stock springs. I put the KYB struts on there too. I got 1" drop in the front and 1.5" drop in the rear. I think my front springs were a little beat up as I like to push it in the corners. Car has 54k. Hope to surprise a few people next track day at Nelson Ledges.
