Just got the car back from the dealer (no problem found with transmission or rattling DoD) in time to get hit. I was with my daughter, little bro, and father watching Indiana Jones when the wife calls me to tell me someone pulled out of a parking spot and hit her while she was driving down the street.
Gonna need two new wheels, repair to front fender, two new doors, new rocker pieces, significant repair to rear quarterpanel, and possibly (hopefully) a new bumper. Let the pics speak for themselves.

That really sucks. I wouldve killed the person who hit my car.... Well, ok maybe I have played too much GTA4. LOL
Thank god your wife is ok. Thats the most important thing. A car can be replaced, but someone you love and care about is lost, its hard.

I wanna go out and get a beater now. I'm to scared of idiots. I got T boned in my 02 Cavalier by a motorcycle doing 50 back in the day. I only had the car for 2 days, and it took 2 months to get it back. The body shop did an excellent job and gave me a lifetime warranty . Your car took one hell of a hit and is still very fixable. Still sucks though and I feel your pain. Thankfully, nobody got hurt.
And not to be an ******* or anything, but this is why I never let anybody drive my car. Accidents do happen. Goodluck man!

its good everyone is ok , here is what i see, repair fender, r&i headlight, loosen and drop the bumper, r&i fender liner, maybe replace i cant tell
replace both door skins, yes we skin doors , all the r&i on both doors, looks like maybe the front door handle, replace rocker molding, repair the 1/4, like 8 maybe 10 hours to repair, r&i tail light, r&i rear bumper and repair bumper
if this was a hit and run your insurance should pick it up as its not your fault, what kind of insurance do you have, then i can go from there

Yeah, they have insurance. Of course, with the holiday weekend, nothing has happened yet. Expecting a call from my insurance tomorrow, though (Geico). I'll let the insurance co's duke it out from there. Not sure if I'm glad that the 20s weren't back on or not.
JN...just read your sig. Sounds like me, even before the accident.

Sorry to hear about that man, at least the wife is okay, that's the main thing. I'm sure it will look new again once it's repaired. Just curious, why does your rear bumper look kinda dull in those pics?

The rear bumper had been painted before and I never got it buffed afterwards, so that's probably why it's dull.
I've had no luck with the bumpers on this car. In Spring '06, the wife backed into a p/u truck and crumpled the right-rear corner of the bumper. Couple months later I found one on eBay for next to nothing and had that repainted & installed in October (i wasn't very proactive with this repair). Then I went out Thanksgiving Eve and came out of the bar to find that someone had some trouble parallel parking (FAIL!!!!) and scraped the new bumper pretty good (and left the scene, of course). I've done nothing with that since then...and the kids/wife have not helped by dragging their bookbags & groceries out of the trunk & over the bumper. It's kind of a lost cause, imo.
BUT!!! Now's my chance to get that bumper replaced...finally!
I picked up the Accident Report and faxed that to my Insurance (Geico). I'm going to place the claim through them and let them hash out the details with the other Ins. Co. If the other guy avoided starting a claim, which is likely considering he was driving a 1996 Windstar, it would take a week or more to get them out to even look at my car. By going through my own insurance, I'm dropping the car off at the repair shop and getting into a rental tomorrow. I'll pay the $500 deductible and get reimbursed after the two sides figure it out. Hopefully, all will be done in less than 2 weeks.
Oh yeah, I'm asking for the cash value for the two wheels. I can get both through various sources for under $500 with rubber, and one wheel alone is over $600.

the rear bumper is fixable all day long gieco wont replace that , its fixable
dont push the shop if its not done is 2 weeks, your in a rental let them fix the car
if its one thing i hate its a time line, and i personaly take my time and fix the car one time no come backs, something like this would take me about 15-17 days to fix
so enjoy the rental
