Went through State Inspection today.
And on my State Emission Inspection Report my car is listed as a 2007 Chevy Monte Carlo Cylinders: 6, engine size: 3100.
I found that pretty amusing.
Not sure if this is the only option they could select or if the tech picked wrong. At least it passed.
So I have had the car for a full year now.
23,900 miles later and a few small annoying issues at first. But I am still very happy with the car.
There is no LS/SS trim. They are separate trims.
And even if it was the LS engine for 06-07 is a 3.5 not a 3.1.
The monte has not "sported" the 3100 since 99.

Insurance sucks to figure out. Let's make a thread to see who pays the most or maybe not...
However, my T/A is my primary vehicle (not by choice) and its listed as a high risk vehicle and I'm also a high risk driver due to a few tickets and such.
Plus my area has a VERY high auto theft rate. I miss my old Nova, it was like $35/month.
i got my Monte back in 2005... it was out before the insurance company had any info on the new ones, so they used the 05 info... my reg and insurance info say Monte Carlo SS v6 coupe lol....
my insurance only went up $50 going from an 02 v6 minivan to the 06 Monte SS... hehe
and the funny part is, it's GMAC Insurance!! hahahahaa....

I went from paying $1600 for comp, collision, and liability in my '96 Explorer to a quote between $1700-$1800 for a new LTZ or SS with the same company. I ended up buying the SS and letting that policy with NY Central Mutual expire shortly thereafter. Before it expired, I got a quote from Geico that showed $1400, so I planned the switch on the exp. date of the old policy. When I entered all my info to buy the policy, including the fact that I drove to work every day (which i intentionally left out in the original $1400 quote), and including 4+ year old speeding tickets that I forgot to add initially, the price dropped to $900/yr ($450/6mos)
