is there a sensor on the timing cover?

http://www.lingenfelter.com/Merchant...Category_Code=

you gotta pull off the oil pump and stuff to see if theres holes for it.

im assuming someone might have put a 3 bolt in a 6.0 ls2 gto. might wanna look at that section of the forum.

The reluctor signal is different on the 07's (which is obvious based on the reluctor bumps on the face) So if you change the whole set to run a 3 bolt style, it doesnt matter the thing wont work right because the signal will be wrong for cam position to the computer.

Either you gotta run an 07 LS2 cam like the one laying around i have or or get a custom one from COMP for the single bolt.

Ah ha!! thats what he needs!!

In theory all you should need from this kit are the bolts and the gear! His lucky day!

awesome find it's on order I'm going to need to replace the chain and crank gear anyhow though. I found about 5 teeth on the cam gear that look a bit bent :< could of been from when I had to crank on the bolt to remove the gear but kinda off in different area of the gear so I dunno, I'd rather be safe than sorry and have to rip it back apart lol. Thanks for the info really helpful you guys rock.

Gonna get it to the track with 100% stock valvetrain aside from the springs. To be honest it "feels" better this way... idk... i wasnt convinced the rockers did **** either. So it willl be cooler to me anyway if i can get the thing damn near 12s with nothing but traction, a tune and and catless DP.

Again its my DD with pep, not my race car.

Keep everone/me posted on the Colorado stuff. A v8 in that thing is quite interesting, to me anyway. Can't get a reg cab, have to get an extended cap or crew cab. Would be a fun truck with tons of potential.

Will do.

I had an 04' Ext cab 4x4 with just the 3.5L and i had yank make a 3500 stall. 2.9STR converter for it with an intake and gibson exhaust. Was a fun little truck and really hauled *** for a 5 cyl, i bet mid 14s on motor with the above mods. Then i wacked it with a 100 shot on top of that with 4x4 burn outs across intersections lol

So i can just imagine how fun these little trucks can be with a V8.

It's amazing that when the Colorados came out, I wondered how kick *** they'd be with a V8, then when I was browsing GM's database of engines I noticed it listed under the 5.3s lol I still can't imagine how awesome they'd be, but I bet every bit as good as a V8 S10, but better!

What all would be needed for someone to program a tune onto their LS4? If you're good at doing a 'mail order' (for lack of a better description), I bet my friend would be quite interested (He lives in Florida, so don't let my location throw you off)

would be nice to find a regular cab short box full size. sucks that the 5.3 is only in the crew and extended colorados/canyons. i suppose someone will do it if it hasnt been done already...

btw i grabbed a bigger maf on ebay for $25 for when i put the bigger intake/tb/piping in eventually 15900023 is the part for that. pin are supposed to be the same as ours. some other guy mentioned it quite a long time ago https://ls1tech.com/forums/ls4-performance/668199-bigger-maf-iat-housing-finally.html

yep that would be correct... a 1500 or 2500 chevy/gmc with a 5.3 or a 6.0 would be nice to mod.
