Default LS1Edit for 99-00 FS

Alright I picked this up from a buddy at work that no longer has his SS and I never got around to use it. So I decided go ahead and sell it. So what I have is the module, cable to connect to the car from the module, and the software which has been burned. I have no knowledge about this thing and guess that's way I didn't use. I emailed carputing and it will be about $250 to get it transferred into your name, shipped, and the license. This is a paste and copy of what the guy from LS1Edit sent me.

To transfer and add licenses, you would need to:

1) transfer the license to you. We would need an order form from you, and acknowledgement from Scott that the license has been transferred. We have a $50 transfer fee.
2) You can purchase additional licenses for your LS1-based vehicle. You would have to return the module to us for upgrading (price for adding licenses is $100/license plus $50 shipping and handling).
3) Since the original purchase is over 6 months old, you would need to purchase the software update service ($50) to get the latest version. If you have a 99/00 LS1, this would not be required (you could run his old software as long as you don't try to use it on a Windows machine with a recent Service Pack 2 upgrade). If you have an LS1 that is not a 99 or 00, then you must purchase new software.

I'm asking $50 shipped

Getting everything transfered would be cheaper than buying it new but you'll have new stuff from carputing. I lower the price to $100 shipped

You said its a burned disk. how do I know it will even work? I think its a vin coded program so you can only use it on 1 vehicle at a time. ill give you $50 shipped provided that its a working copy.

You can tune your car yourself? It's also a scanning tool. If you like more info on it go to carputing.com. Its like another hptuners or EFIlive. Thanks

I believe the module is what will lock you out if it doesn't recognize the vin. Once sent to carputing they'll give me an updated version with new software and what not. So you'll pretty much have new module, updated version for less than a $100 if you just buy it out right from them. I hope that makes sense. Thanks

I'm lowering the price to $50 shipped. That should help getting the rest of the stuff updated and transferred. Thanks

This seems like a fair deal for LS1edit as i've seen them brand new for like 6-700, and one question why hasn't anyone tried to decompile (crack) the cable so you can use it on unlimited cars?

The unlimited feature is contained in the module and not the cable. That would probably be some serious work to crack the code.

The Crackers have been able to hack/crack Windows and many programs that are lot more expensive/advanced than LS1edit, i'm sure it could be done, just wish I had enough knowledge or i'd work on it myself.
