FS: LS1 out of a 98 C5, low miles!!
Well I had agreed to buy this off a board member on the Vette board and told him I would not back out. I was going to put my FRC back to stock and sell it so the easiest way was dropping in a stock LS1 longblock. However I got a decent offer on my car so im just going to sell it. As far as I know the motor is pretty complete, from heads, intake mani, injectors, fuel rails, oil pan etc. Im asking $1600 firm what I just paid for it. The motor has about 50K miles on it and was never abused. Let me know if there is any interest. Thanks

Are you willing to ship the complete motor. And are you willing to sell off just the short block i dont really needs anything else but if your willing to ship and we can work it out im super interested. Thanks.

Yeah I have no problem shippng it assuming you pay for shipping I want to sell it the way it is, I dont want to break it down. If you buy it you could always sell teh stuff you dont need. Where are you from?

I'm interested, but I have a few questions.
Does it have all of the crank accessories? A/C, power steering, water pump, etc?
Is a complete and uncut engine harness available?
Lastly, does it come with the engine computer?
I'm in Elk Grove, so I can arrange to have this picked up locally.
Thanks,
-Rich

Well here's the deal. I bought this to put my FRC back to stock. I then got an offer on my FRC that I couldnt pass up so I sold it so I no longer need thsi motor. The motor was purchased from a guy in LA. He had pulled the motor out of his car to go with a stroker. If someone local would be interested i would have to drive down there to pick it up (which isnt a problem)
All I know is it was a complete longlock, I believe it has all the pulleys, but no power steering or ac, if it was going into an F-body or Vette you would just use the ones you have. I was told it has the injectors, fuel rails, intake manifold, oil pan ad im sure im missing a few things. I do not have the harness or ecu, sorry.

Ok, as long as the thing runs strong and doesn't require a rebuild then that's cool. I should be able to source the accessories somewhere no problem, I was just curious to see what this motor would be coming with.
Thanks for the info. I didn't know that the vettes used drive by wire. I'm planning on putting this engine into a Nissan 240SX, so a cable throttle is a must. I'll have to source this from an fbody LS1 I take it? Would a cable throttle cause the C5 ecu to throw any codes (I'll search the forums for this one)?
I'm still doing research on whether or not a smog ref would pass this. As far as I can see, the regulations should allow this as long as all of the smog equipment is present and the electronics are working properly. I'm sure I'll find a lot of answers on these forums.
I'd like to be sure that this will pass inspection before I buy the motor, but definitely count me in as interested.
