Holy **** those things flow great for as cast! If stock intake and headers will bolt up I might have to get a pair.

You were telling me that Ed Hutchens tunes LT1's. I was planning to take it to his shop. That is, if he still does that. I still have his phone number but I haven't checked lately.

The port openings are CNC'd exactly to the stock LT1 gasket, the exhaust ports and bolt holes exactly match the Fel Pro LT header gasket. The pushrods don't clear the stock GM head gasket pushrod holes, so run an aftermarket one.

They are a true bolt on 54cc LT head, right out of the box they make almost as much power as our LT200 heads.

Glad they are living up to the hype as a real option for a performance bolt-on head for LTX builds. Kudos to TFS for sure, and I am curious to see what AI does with them as far as price:performance.

I wonder if those #'s were obtained using a pipe? And on what size bore?

Reasonable questions BUT at the same time Trickflow does NOT have the history of things like using a 4.155 bore like some other companies do so I wouldn't get too worried about it. Besides, flow numbers are NOT that informative anyway.

I'm just trying to decide the better value here. The AI 200cc heads flow very close to the TFS fast as cast head. I can get a brand new set of the trick flow heads shipped to my door for $1400 where as I would have to pay $1700 plus shipping. And I would still have a used casting with AI.

These heads may be replacing my LE heads in the future. Especially if they flow that well out of the box. Then eventually I could get them ported.

What would be a good cam to run with them out of the box?

Eh, if I buy the heads I'll probably talk to the guys at AI to get something custom, buying stuff off of the shelf isn't always the best thing to do.

Good to hear nothing was revised. I assumed that was the case, but didn't want to speak for you guys.

You are attempting to compare incomparable data. On the same test fixturing, bench, conditions, etc. our 200cc CNC'd GM head is 25-30cfm up on the as-cast TFS head.

The 200cc GM head is completely re-machined to as-new condition. Our $1395 190cc CNC'd GM head will be a few #'s up on the as-cast TFS head & the 200cc CNC'd GM head will be up a little more than that. At the same time, the first fully CNC'd head based on the 21deg TFS casting we release should be up ~10-20hp over our 200cc GM casting.

Waiting on a few bits of info from TFS before we can wrap things up. Hopefully that'll happen this week & we can finally get this pile of castings cut up & on some cars.

So the as cast TFS 21* will only be down ~10-20hp compared to your 200cc GMs  But how much is the valve angle going to affect the power #s compared to the stock 23* Or is that not going to be a huge factor?

I think these will be the perfect heads to compliment my little hotcam. And I will have room to grow if I want to make more power with a cam swap. I kinda like the hotcam

A stock head with a good valve job would compliment the hot cam. The hot cam isn't even worth setting it next to the 21* TFS heads on the bench.
