I just recently did a stock bottom lt1 heads/and in house custom grind cam and put down 452rwhp/399 torque
Joe I thought that car had worked AFR LT4 195s?
I'm running ported factory LT1 heads with 1.94/1.50 valves.
Anyway congrats on the 452, damn good #'s. Hopefully with a little more tweaking I'll be hitting 460 soon.

Re: 440rwhp from a stock bottom H/C LT1?
what is the general size on these cams? are they streetable at all? solid roller, solid tappet, hydraulic roller, etc.?
The cam that we used is a Hydraulic roller. Streetability is a personal opinion but yes it's streetable for the most part other then a lumppy idle, although at 1000rpms it idles in park and in gear quite nicely. The compression is pretty low on this motor so it would run on 91-93 pump gas with NO problems. As Steve said earlier the fuel that we dynoed with was 6 month old 93.

nice setup Joe. Im looking for a new cam for my setup and will be going as far as i can while still maintaining streetability and a close to stock bottom end...just trying to get an idea on a large cam that will create good power with ported heads, intake, and every bolt on possible(only 2 bolts-ons left for me). I was hoping for around 410 rwhp, if not, then im going stroker
PS Nice to see so many strong running LT1's, havent heard much about LT1's in a while.

Theres some of still kicking ...Friend of mine Chris Jones just the other week at a eastern f-body shootout ran 11.19@121 with stock bottom end lt4 heads and custom hyd. cam..he never had it on the dyno yet but I'd say it putting right much down to run that number.. he was right on the heels of cam/heads ls1's within a 1/10..

So what's the secret here? Is there one? These aren't readically different combos from what has been done in past years. Yet the HP numbers from the h/c lt1's have jumped 30-50hp.

Oh please tell me how so! I have AFR LT4 195cc and a 224/236 560/560 on a 115 (blower cam) and I only mananged 409RWHP! If I can get 452 i wouldnt definitely ditch the blower in favor of NA!!

Wow, lots of nice setups here. I have to get my blown setup onto a dyno after I do some work, hopefully I'll be putting down a little over 400 on stock heads without an aftercooler. Once it's aftercooler and has heads, a pulley swap will take place, and I hope to break 500. Good luck to everybody's setups.
needforspd, are you running stock heads or an aftercooler?
