rwhp numbers LE vs AI
#22
Im not looking to bash anyones set up, you cant go wrong with either. I havent had the chance to get it to the track yet so HP numbers is all I got to work with. I would just like to see the numbers side by side instead of having to look all over the place for them. Besides I was drunk when I came up with this idea, but it does have 20+ replies since lastnight.
The main difference I see in track times is the AI cars seem more dedicated track cars.
The HP numbers seem real similar.
Dont forget Im running a power robbing S60 so my RW #s will seem low compared to anyone with a 10bolt still in it, but the peace of mind and hard launches at the track will make up for it.
Oh BTW track numbers have way more variables than a dyno does, Dyno tells ya whos making more power, track times are about set up and driver. You could have a million HP but if you cant drive or get the power to the ground, doesnt mean you couldnt go fast just means the cars not set up.
Then there are 11 sec bolt on cars that are just set up for the strip.
To me both are important!!!!

i would imagine the LTX shootout should give the answers. If it gets even a decent turn out, both companies should be represented at least a little. then track conditions wouldn't be a factor. that could get interesting.

Still the race track is more about driver, the suspension, weight and track prep.
You would have to have 2 Identical set ups, 1 LE and 1 AI car and have the same driver run them. To have a real comparison at the track.
Perfect example my buddies stang with him driving would only run 13.9s with me driving it went 13.3s.
This is not about track times anyways, I would like to know what kind of HP these cars are making. Once I get my car to the track Ill be more into ETs and comparisons

id have to agree with a few of you. AI seems to be more for the racers. i talked to both and was leaning towards lloyd then i check out AIs results and they are IMPRESSIVE. so in a month or so my heads will be on there way to AI for there 200cc package along with a solid roller. i have a 9.80 goal and i feel AI can reach that goal for me.

I have neither companies products but I don't trust dyno numbers at all. Too easily manipulated, exaggerated and inflated...The track also has its fair share of variables but I have always used the trap speed as my true hp indicator... I run at a lower altitude track and usually do my testing in similar DA conditions...Your ET is a function of traction, driver, suspension, MPH is a function of HP and weight...FWIW I only make 375 rwhp...but am very satisfied...

I personally agree with you on that statement. I would rather dyno low and run fast than brag about dyno numbers.
As long as the person writing the check is happy with how they measure up, good for them. But if you've just been handed your *** at the track by the better setup car, don't tell them how much higher you dynoed.
FYI, my car only dynoed 350ish rwhp with the th400 and 9inch, but ran the times in my signature.

Not with a M6, I could trap a good 3mph faster in my buddy's car than he could, driver is a big factor in a M6 car
