Default 383 Internally balanced, will stock fly wheel work

I have a new 383 LT1 stroker...It is internally balanced set up... Will the stock Fly wheel off my 97 SS work??

Yes it will. Just as long as you take it to a machine shop and get it neutral balanced. Don't even think about putting it on until that is done.

Awesome... Should I just buy a new one?? or is the stock one worth balancing..what would it cost you think??

That depends too. If you are going to use the original clutch and the clutch/PP/flywheel are in good shape then sure. However if you are going to use a new clutch/PP then it is definitely worth the cost to get a new flywheel or at least get the one you have now resurfaced and rebalanced.

thanks for the info... Will buy a new one... Now I need to get the bolt out of my crank thats stuck on my Firehawk...(its my other LT1 car)

The Spec billet steel ones are nice, they have a removable weight for internal/external balance. It is held on by 3 bolts.

That's what I got when I went to a Spec Stage 3. Feels great.

Yea when I threw in my 383 I forgot about this until it was almost completely ready to fire. Luckily I remembered however had to pull the tranny. I had mine balanced locally here and I believe it cost me around $50
