Default lt1 probelms again

I most be blessed with bad luck like crazy, alot of bad **** has happened to me in just 3days. Today was the real icing on the cake, at the local car wash. I proceeded to worsh my car, once i was done it didn't want to start. Long long story short an plenty of trips around to get stuff. It was coming home on a rollback still yet to start. My ? is how do you know for sure if a starter is going out or not, how hard are they on lt1s to change. It looked pretty bad.

Is it a dead key or is the starter trying to turn the motor over?
Security light flashing when you turn the key?

The start is very easy to replace. Just two bolts hold it to the motor and you have to unbolt two wires, that's it. You might have to remove the y-pipe to have better access to the starter, I did that once, but taking down the y-pipe isn't that difficult either.
Have the new starter ready, unbolt the wires paying attention to where they should go on the new one (should be obvious), unbolt the starter bolts and remove the starter, bolt on the new starter, bolt on the wires to the new one.

Try to jump the starter with a bid screw driver and see if it engages.

A long screwdriver.

I believe you connect the two larger posts with the screwdriver:

If it clicked multiple times when you turned the key it is a battery problem (or lack of power to the starter), if it only clicked one time every time you turned the key it is either a starter going bad, or a ground problem to the engine.

Well i just went out an tried to start it after i got home from work an she fired up . It seems it takes a little longer to start now, it used to start with in a second now it has to crank over a few times. I also tried connecting those two post all it did was shoot sparks out no engaging or anything. Could the starter just be getting weak?

It's quite possible your ignition switch is starting to go faulty. The connections may be worn to the point where not enough voltage is being sent to the solenoid to engage the starter. You can easily check this by taking the solenoid wire off of the starter solenoid and putting a volt meter to it to read voltage. You can also take your starter off, connect it straight to your battery and see if it engages.

Did you try to tighten down the batter terminals? Sounds stupid and too simple but its happen to me especially if you just put a new battery in it, if they are just a little bit loose you'll have problems like you are describing.
