Default Where to buy oil pumps

My Oil pump went out yesterday and since it is my DD i need to know where to buy theses parts ASAP in hope of getting it going again this weekend. I am looking into the melling M155 pump, or 10554 pump with the GM white spring and the Melling drive shaft. I have tried looking at summit for theses parts but to no success. Help would be GREATLY appriciated. Thanks

Why do you think the oil pump went out? That would be an extremely rare freak failure.

What are the symptoms.

I started the car up, it had good pressure for about 2 seconds then the pressure dropped to 0. Was a quart low, so i filled it back up.pulled off the valve cover, started it and there wasn't any oil coming out of the pushrods.

There is a plastic coupler on the oil pump driveshaft that would be FAR more likely than the pump itself.
That said, you have to pull the pump to change it.

ok, well i'm guessing its the plastic coupler. I DO have to change it from the bottom? can i pull the intake and replace it with the melling hardened shaft from the top? I have only found one thread on this topic and i'm pretty sure it said you cannot

I don't know how you're having trouble finding the 10554 pump from Summit. Just type in "10554" in the search box. Yes, it's that simple.

i found the pump and driveshaft i need i just have another question and didn't want to start another thread. I'm wanting to know if i can replace the driveshaft by taking the intake off or not, or if i have to go from the bottom. Ill be using the melling steel coupler and new shaft.

no you change it while changing the oil pump. remove oil pan. remove 5/8 head bolt holding oil pump on and pump pick up and shaft should come out together. Is this a rebuilt motor??? Are you sure thats the problem? if a oil galley plug came out or you spun a cam bearing it will do the same thing

No the engine is in the car it only has 105k miles on it. It went to 0 oil pressure the other day and i'm expecting the plastic sleeve on the oil pump drive shaft broke, so i was hoping i could change it by removing the intake instead of dropping the pan which would involve alot more work.

even if a bearing spins there is usually a trace of pressure on the gauge. i would suspect the plastic coupler more than anything at this point.

well tore the car apart last night. nothing wrong in the bottom end, so i put a new pump and metal drive shaft in. there were good size chunks in the pan so i'm expecting the drive gear now. Ill be pulling the intake soon. Can i get a new gear at OReilley's? part number maybe? thanks

Sorry to hear it is worse than just the coupler.

Far as I know the drive under the intake is a dealer part. Heron Performance makes a billet one too. Other than that I have never seen an aftermarket one.
