just remove the solenoid on the side of the engine.. cap the line going to the throttle body.. then remove the skinny line that runs along the front of the engine and connects to the third fuel line.. i just unplugged it and tucked the 3rd line into the fuel line protector/cover.. you could always go the step further and remove the charcoal canister but i dont think it's 100% neccesary.

If you are getting code P1661 and your SES light doesn't work, then your bulb on the SES light is probably blown and causing the code. Pull your instrument cluster, remove the plastic cover on the back and pull the bulb that lines up the the SES light. It just twists a quarter turn and comes out.
Same thing happened on mine. I bought the car and over weeks of crawling around under it checking things out I kept noticing things that made me think "I can't believe thats not throwing a ses light". Then I noticed that the SES light wasn't coming on when you first crank up. I had noticed a Check Guages light and thought it was the SES light on these cars. I just happened to look at the cluster in the sun one day and noticed the outline of the SES light and that it wasn't working.
Kind of funny that the SES light can blow, throw a code, and you won't know it because the SES light is blown.
