LS6 was originally a BBC. For some dumbass reason gm keeps recycling engine nomenclature for completely different engines. lt1 is another example at least they were both sbc's hell even l99 was a mid 90's 4.3 v8 now it is the new camaro motor.

perhaps dear old uncle is confused with his engine designations im willing to bet someone told him its the "corvette block" (4 bolt mains big deal) and then uncle instead of thinking lt4 or something, he thought ls6
