Default Header install complete but I got a funny smell

it smells kinda like an arc welder so im guessing something burning but the car doesn't do any weird firing thing.

what could cause this smell? its only on the drivers side..

i checked all the plug wires and the 02 extensions but they don't seem to touch....

burnt plug wires maybe? any ash on the wires? pop the hood at night and check for a light show.

are they new headers? painted, coated, stainless?

When installed my painted pace setter LT's it looked like the car was on fire and smelled just like what you are describing. It was just the paint burning off the headers...its pretty normal i assume. Same thing happened when i put a set of shorties on my 92 camaro.

Headers will stink like crazy until you get a few heat cycles in them.

they are coated pacesetters.

kinda weird that its only the driver's side in my opinion...

i don't think its arcing cuz if it was i think there would be some kind of misfire right?

My coated PS's smell like crap for the first week or so. Dont be nervous about the smell just make sure everything is clear of them and you'll be fine. Smell shouldnt last more than a week or two tops...

My Macs smelt like burnt bacon after they went on Went away after a few miles were put on them. LPP's on the other hand had no odor at all.
