mine still runs perfect but a guy here has a block from a B-body that I can get for 50 so I thought I would pick it up and start a build and still drive mine in the mean time
Thanks

double check the casting numbers, many bbody guys try to sell lt1s but end up having a baby lt1 instead

happened to me once at a junkyard... i got an "lt1" from a TA, turned out to be a baby lt1, i guess the last owner of that TA got tired of being beat, lol, and junked the car... anyways moral of the story:
make sure to check the casting numbers
327 on the side
5.7 on top

Yes, it looks exactly identical. You couldn't teall at all until you looked at the casting number in the back. Also all 5.7 LT1's have a big "327" cast into the sides of the block, if it's not there, don't buy it...

OP. The Bbody and Fbody 5.7 blocks are identical. Heads, cam, and acc's are different though.

No.. just incase I have to help a friend out.

I have a Ford 4.6l Block for a boat anchor..the push-rod 5.0's are somewhat worth a **** more than that modular 4.6.

Pretty sure. You'd have to find a way to bore it from 3.76" to 4" if it can be done.

EDIT... I forgot that the 4.3 Baby LT1 has a 3" stroke and 5.94" rods. You'd have to swap cranks too. I'm assuming that the deck height is the same.

not to steal the thread but i am confused. on the front of my engine it says 588 on the left side, and 327 g-4 on the other side. so is it a 5.7 or 4.3

Went to go take a look at the block I bought for 100 dollars a couple months ago....No 327 signs anywhere, took a measuring tape to the bores in a panic and 3.75 inches was read...."tear"

Depending where you look both blocks say 588 and 327 on them. Just look behind the drivers side head it will say 4300 or 5700.

Quick Reply: LT1 block only from B-body same as F-body???
