i think the thing that i hated doing the most was installing the dual valve springs w/ the heads on the car.

I come from the jeep world where you can do just about anything in under 3-4 hours. After 20 hours installing headers and a y-pipe, 3 hours in plugs/wires/egr delete, and a multitude of other things(haven't gotten around to the pleasure of the opti yet), I'm gonna say just about everything I've done so far has been a pain in the ***...I am beginning to hate working on anything on my car...lol

Everything sucks the first time I do it. But after that it's not so bad.

So what do I hate? The LS1 guys that mock us just for owning an LT1.

Oh I broke the signal wire post or whatever its called on a factory starter the other day, that was interesting. Wasn't torquing on it or anything, never even really met any resistance, tiny little post snapped. Thankfully I had another starter laying around.

I worked on a buddy's third gen and he could put a family of four under the hood with his engine installed compared to our engine compartment....
Good one

Default egr valve -ac commpresor

my bitch is the egr valve on the back of the intake . and the location of
the ac commpresor. the engineers at gm must have been "smokin "crack
when they were in the the design studio back in 92-93.

I had fun when my middle header bolt broke off flush with the head. I agree with a m6 car and the cup holder. Elbow in the air trick works good. Another one is the erg pipe to the passenger side header (for some reason every time I take it off I can never find the bolts to put it back on). Last but not least my torque arms bolts. Took it out in 5 mins. Took 2-3 hours to get them back in.

I would rather pull my engine, tear it down, and rebuild it, all over again, rather than do any small job on most other car lol. I'm a mechanic and see alot of wtf situations. Replacing the head gaskets on a northstar comes to mind lol. seriously wtf!

As far as fbodys I have to say the cupholder in an m6. I have seriously no idea why they did that. I loved my 3rd ge with no cupholders at all, that **** was pimp! lol

I know right?! lol I actually had a guy come buy some **** from me that i had on craigslist. He rolled up in a stock white vert ls1 m6 ss and was jokingly talking smack on my 1993 m6 TA. So we went for a run on a nice new open road by my house and i wiped that shitty grin right off his face lol. I only beat him by a little, probubly about a car at 100, but Iv got 7500 total into my car, including the purchase of the car, with the complete teardown, bolt ons, and restoration. He payed 22k for his. Sorry man, I'll keep my lt1. I think mine looks and sounds a hellova lot better too.

I really don't have anything that just makes me scream. Everything under the hood is a little tight, but I have worked on plenty of cars over the years to learn you just have to deal with it. Once you are familiar with the way things are put together, though tedious, it seems easier. Just for regular maintenance issues, plugs and plug wires can be a chore. The AIR pipe being in the way gave me a fit on plug #2 the first time.

So humble.... Lol

I think Robs site and in-site has made these pesky little LT1 idiosyncracies much more bearable for all of us.

I used the site just the other day whilst swapping my valvesprings to find out which 2 cyls were up at the same time, so I could do 2 cyls at a time.

Thanks Rob

taking off stock manifolds sucks, but putting headers on is not a big deal. I did it alone lastnight in 1.5 hrs and didnt even pull the plugs or plug wires! Engine hoist and undo the motor mounts one side at a time and even stepped headers pop right in! It also helps to have all the emissions **** deleted!

I am on my 3rd Camaro and have lost track of how many power window motors I have installed (maybe 6?) First time it was almost impossible, last time I did one in 1 1/2 hours.
