Default LE1.5 cam LE2 Head track results

So i took my opti off today after replacing the Coil, ICM, Plugs, and Wires because it was really the only thing left to replace lol. apparently a Rotor screw came off (spinning to almost 7k is bad?) and it just made a big mess inside. so the new one went on today as well and i hit the track.

First Pass (Launched at 5k-5500)

60' 1.823
1/4 12.292
MPH 114.83(short shifted 1st)

Second and last pass (Launched at 6k)

60' 1.749
1/4 11.96
MPH 116.52

this is on a 27" tall tire with 3.73 gears. ill be ordering 4.30s soon and expecting to hit 11.60s with better air. stock 90k mile bottom end as well

Yeah you need to get it on a dyno at least to see where your power peak is so you know exactly where to shift. It's possible you could improve your times knowing that tid bit of info since that will also let you decide exactly what gears to get to accommodate your power band.

At 116 you've got more than 11.90's in it. Get that 60' down and it'll go! Congrats!

Nice, good to see another LE setup running 11's! I have pretty much an identical setup (LE2's with LE1.3 cam). You definetly have some left in there I say with gears and a dyno tune you will hit 119mph-ish. I just dyno tuned my car and picked up a substantial amount of power so definetly look into that eventually.

Nice times, yeah I ran 11.60's@116mph but you will need to 60' in the low 1.6 range to do that. Not really hard being you have a 12bolt and 4.30's on order. Now put a little money into the suspension, some Hals up front, adjustable rear shocks and you could run low 11's. Goodluck Later Clint

definately good times for a shakedown pass this time of year.

I'm guessing since you have no dyno numbers that it has a mail order tune. a dyno tune will def pick up some more power

Deja vu'
I had the same LE1.5 cam and my Comp 918's busted in 20 miles. I then started running various beehive's but I could not find a spring that would prevent the valves from floating. The float was easily seen on the dyno graphs when the power just collapsed at 6K RPM. I then pulled the LE1.5 cam for a LE1 cam to error on the side of more reliability. This only meant a reduction of around .030" of lift but the durations were the same.

Good to hear that your LE1.5 cam works with the Patriot springs. I never did use the Patriot's with my old cam but I did install them in a buddies LT1 with the 1.5 cam and they did appear to cure the float in his too.

Congrats on the numbers, that is awesome. I ran 13 flat @107 with 2.3 second 60 foot. Clearly I could not drive the car worth a ****.

I really want to see you dyno graph when you get the chance.
