Default Time for a new short block.

Well my bottom end let go. From what I can tell it broke the crank. I was at the track and it broke at about 6000rpm in third gear. The only parts found on the track was the oil filter, oil sending unit, and a freeze plug. It bent that nice AI cam and bent both the valves on the #8 cylinder. Every exhaust valve hit every piston. It actually cracked the timing cover up the middle and broke the cam plate in half. It was a budget bottom end. It had an Eagle cast crank, SIR Rods and Speed Pro power forged pistons. I don't blame the manufacture, I was making more power and spinning it over what it was capable of. I'm going to do the same setup exepct with stronger parts this time so I can spray it. Looks like it will be down about a year. Here are some pictures enjoy!

+2.

So did mine.

You say you aren't going to blame it on the manufacturer? **** I would! Eagle cast cranks are garbage. You, ferg, myself, and countless other people are a testament to how poor their cast parts are.

Damn that was an expensive mishap. It's a shame it broke all of your nice parts too.

Good luck getting it back together.

It is not the fact that it is an Eagle crank. It is the fact that it is a cast crank. Show me a forged steel crank that has done that on an NA LT1.
