This winter I'll try to do a how-to or something. I want to keep the heat is my biggest thing. And I may pull the dash to swap to a bird dash too if I can find one, so I might modify the interior side of the heater box too.

The Merv has a pretty good thread on it. Shows where to cut the box and what to do to keep the heat.

i just recently did this.... car isnt running yet so i dont know how goodi t works.... but once you get into it you figure it out and its not that bad...

I found the tick wich was only a header leak. Fixed that up and tightened a coolant hose that spung a little leak, did the first oil change, I also cleaned up under the car real good.
Car sounds great!!! Now I just need a new plate sticker and slap the insurance back on it. Then hit the streets/dyno and track!!!

No kit yet. The set up I want is like 1300 & I wanna break in the motor first and see how it runs NA with the QTPs and 2-step.

after 25-30 min at idle. Car still hasnt left the garage to seat the rings. Need a plate sticker and insurance. Driving that car without either is a sure trip to the slammer! lol!

I havent taken any yet. It would just be an idle vid and i got plenty of those already. I take a vid when I pull it out of the garage.

Yep, merv's thread is where I learned how to do it to mine. It kinda sucked and was pretty time consuming and dirty job. But I think the benefits were worth it on my car.

You saw my engine bay at the shootout, nothing but a plate there now with the two heater core lines coming out of it.

I may not have AC anymore, but my heater still works awesome!

Congrats on getting your car running again

Unfortunately, I don't see any way that you could keep from cutting up the box while keeping your heater too
