Default My 355 is done and should fire today!!!

Well after a few long weeks of putting in 12hr days at work, 6days a week and spending all my free time working on my 355 build. Its finally about done and I should be able to fire it up later tonight!!!!
All I need to do after work is put the shifter back in, slap in the DS safety loop, bolt up the TDs, pop in the battery and add oil, oh and tighten the belt!!
Heres a few pics of the progress!!!
Old motor coming out

new engine

Anyone prime their motors b4 initial start up? I was thinking about pulling the plugs and cranking it to prime it. Any other suggestions b4 I fire it?

That was the plan but the motor was gonna sit for a bit and I figured it would just loose its prime, So I figured to just crank it w/o spark B4 I fired it. Coil Wire seems much easier lol! Thanks

It is unfair how clean the engine bay paint looks on your car, really clean. Best of luck, the dog doesn't look like much help.

I wish I was this close to getting mine running again. I just pulled the coil wire and spun mine over a few times before I fired mine up. It worked for me. Just make sure there was plenty of assembly lube when it was assembled. I would hate to hear you spun a bearing but, I'm pretty sure you'll be fine. You lucky bastard!! LOL.

Same LE2 set up! Just a 355 w/ stock crank ,rods with arp rod bolts and speed pro pistons and clevite bearings. Other then the short the rest is identical.

SDZ there was lots of assembly lube and yours will get back together soon!! Just sucks everything let go in yours. Did you at least get off a good pass b4 it let go?

Nope, it was the first pass off the trailer. I bought some of the TOYO TQ's and it was my first pass on those tires and I didn't get them hot enough. I pulled a 2.3 60' time and it would have turned out to be like a 12.0-12.1 at about 119mph. Disappointed. Again, good luck on the start up.

Thanks,
Car only has 33k on it. When I got it with 26k the entire engine bay was covered in some nasty sticky rust proofing crap from the dealer. Goof off and a rag + lots of time and it looks like it does now.

Goof off? That would be me. Do you mean Goo Gone? WD40 works well too at getting the rust proofing off.
