Default Lt4 started bakfiring after being parked 2 months....

like the title says my car is back firing and i dunno y???? could it be the spark plugs or what?? let me kno tech's....thanks

most likely your cap n rotor...mine did that too, but i had a p0300 code, got the cap n rotor changed then the backfire went away. But Im still getting the same due to an leak in the manifold probably

i just filled up with 93 octane and the backfiring is going away as i drive it but not completely...

Go drive it at a steady speed, it should clear up. Keep the rpms up.

well it did go away a little but it still does it when the engine is cold but only sumtimes and very little like maybe one or two pops and that it...i had it sittin for about 2 months without start and now i dont know what it could be....

I left mine for about 2 months and my cap and rotor was screwed. I guess from all the rain they had while I was gone.

no its just the cap and rotor the opti is the distributor if im correct

The cap and rotor are part of the opti. The rotor portion can become corroded if it does not get used IME. I would look elsewhere before diggin in on the opti however.

yes i am now loosing power in my engine very bad and the bakfiring is now gettin a lil worse...what could it be???

it was working, just fine before i parked and then that bakfiring started right at startup after turning it when it was parked...

but i am now noticing that im loosing power in every gear,,,this is a sucky feeling man...but i ordered the cap and rotor already and hopefully that fixes the problem...
