Default EFI Connection 24X makes 700RWHP!!!!

I got the T/A on the dyno today. I had fought a miss all summer, and the cause ended up being the stock LS1 coil packs I used for my conversion on my LT1. I upgraded to the LS2 truck coils, from a 02 and newer 6.0L 2500 pickup, and the miss went away.

The car put down 695.67RWHP@6100 rpm's and 598.76RWTQ@6000 rpm's SAE.(714RWHP/614RWTQ uncorrected). This was on pump 90 gas with Turbo Power -40* windshield washer fluid(meth injection). Who knows what the #'s would be with some race gas and aggressive timing. Saw about 22# boost with 105* IAT's. I did the tuning using HP Tuners 3 bar custom OS. The supercharger is a YSi Vortech. The car's mods are in the link in my sig below.

Big thanks to Richard Hale @ Hales Technical here in Anchorage for his knowledge and advice in the minor tuning we did. Still have a lil ignition breakup at 6000+, but is probably from old plugs and wires, or the windshield washer fluid instead of straight meth. If I get that taken care of, I could probably gain another 20-30 HP. Pretty happy with the results. Using a basic 15% loss for drive train, the engine should be somewhere near 800HP, not bad for a lil LT1 SBC.

Another big thanks to Mike@EFI Connection. He assisted greatly in helping to diagnose the miss I had this summer. Mike's customer service and excellent communication throughout this build was awesome. Feel free to PM either myself or S10Wildside (Mike) with any questions you may have on this conversion.

congrats

I do hope to be able to do this LSx ECU conversion at some point.

The graphs shows to have some issues though above 6000 rpm.

belt slip or valvetrain?

Street manners are great. Idles well, cruises good, and gets about 18mpg. No overheating issues with stock radiator, Ive even autoX it. I tried to drive it to work every day I could this summer, 60 miles round trip. Every thing is still on the car, AC, cruise, ect. The power is definatly there, gets a lil spooky when it breks the 315 tires loose at 125 on the freeway.

Id say neither, as it is a cog drive, and the springs are good to 700 lift (only using 550 lift.) The last time I changed spark plugs were mid summer, and I think I still may be blowing the spark out. I think they are gapped to .025, I may try some new pugs, gapped at .020.

The ease of HP Tuners over CATS has really justified to cost of the conversion alone. You really don't know how bad CATS is, until you use HP Tuners. Their forum is very usefull as well.

Ive got a couple of vids, Ill post them when when they finish uploading.

o.k..I didn't read into the setup and slip with a cog is ruled out

I really can't see spark blowout though with the Lsx ignition and a gap of .025-.030 which we commonly run here in the shop...might just need plugs in general as stated.

HPT is a killer product and we use it often and test setups for them as well

Prices vary, I took the expensive route and had EFI connection make me a custom harness for my car, which was $800 alone. They make a DIY kit, and more info on that can be found here-->https://ls1tech.com/forums/lt1-lt4-m...n-lsx-pcm.html TAKid took the least expensive route, which is very affordable.

Thanks!! IMO, your car(pic in your sig??) has the best looking front end of all time. MY 95 TA was a lil rough. Instead of painting it and bodywork for $10k, I picked up the 99 TA for $8k, and swaped the LS1 into the 95 and sold it for $5.5k. Then swaped the LT1 into the 99. I just had way too much$$ in the LTx platform to start all over on the LSx. Im old school SBC fan anyway.

Believe it or not, The problem I had all summer was blowing the spark out with the stock LS1 coils, plugs gapped at .018. The car wouldn't rev past 4k rpm's in 4th to save it's life, the miss was that bad. The LS2 truck coils fixed it all I thought. There was I lil on the dyno, so I upped the dwell time and it helped a lil, but new plugs and wires are needed.

I won't make the dyno again this year, car the car is now in storage for the winter, but I will give it a tweak before next years racing season. Anyway, vids as promised.

The issue you had must have just been bad coils. We have done many Lsx vehicles with 18+ psi and never see a spark blow out issue with stock coils let alone with truck coils.

I hope its just plugs and wires for you come spring since it seems like you had little time to enjoy the car this season.

car looks and sounds great

Good numbers, but I would think more would be possible through a 6-speed YSI combo though.

Who knows what the #'s would be with some race gas and aggressive timing.
More like they should be

yea, yea, let the hatin' begin, haha.

I dont' know, how much should the HP raise with c16 racegas, and let's say 21* timing instead of the pump 90 and 18*?? My cam may be hurting me for big HP #'s, what you guys think, 230/242, .577 lift/1:6 rockers, 114LSA? Im toying around the Idea of a bigger cam....
