first fire 383 lt1 issues.... idleing mostely
well tried to fire my car today for the first time since the rebuild.... had some trouble getting it going at first but giving it some gas while cranking got her going... but she wont idle very well... after it runs for a few it starts to idle but only at like 500 rpm (pcmforless tune is sopposed to be set around 900) we adjusted the TPS sensor and got it around .65 i think .67 is desired... i mean everything is new on this car as far as engine goes.... its running on ltcc also... but if i hold the idle with the throttle it holds... runs a little rough but its my first cammed car so this might be normal.... anybody have any imput on the subject... could it just be the pcm has to learn and run for a while... is there somthing else that im not doing... thanks for any help... ask questions is needed...

lt1 383 stoker, compstar rotating assem srp pistons (flat top), 200cc trickflow cnced heads, custom grind comp cams 236/242 580intake 541exhaust 110lsa, stock ported intake manifold...some things that may affect it if you or anybody wants to chime in on soem of these... trying to run it open headers (maybe o2 sensors are reading wrong?), i have o2 sims in the rear o2s but the pcm was tuned for rear o2 with out cats... maybe those are reading bad... im on my stock iac that seemed ok when i swapped it out to the 58mm... it just doesnt idle well at all.... i almost think its missfiring but again its so hard to tell with the cam... so im gonna do the only arc trick on the plug wires to see if every cyl is firing... or my ltcc harnesss is f-ed up and i got a coil wire crossed somewhere..

i did the iac reset and it didnt do much... i just got it to idle outside around 750 for a while... but then dropped to 500 and eventually died... anybody think the gas can be bad... last fresh gas to be added was in july of this year... i put a bottle of dry gas in before i tried to start it... i dont know enough about gas to say if its bad or not... if so ill pull the line and hotwire the pump to drain it... i have spark to all cyl so ltcc is working.

also do i have to keep the batt connected for it to hold the tune... iv been disconnecting the batt everynight just incase becuase everything is fresh and some things are newly wired and just playing it safe for fire safety... should i just leave that connected could that be my problem that its trying relearn everytime...? i havent had it running for than a minute or 2 does it need longer than that to learn itself??

well i know i dont have a plug wire crossed, only thing that can be crossed is the ltcc harness and that is labeled for cyl... as for the boots im pretty sure they are hooked up good... as you know its kind of hard to push them on, but im almost positive they are all on but like you said ill triple check them..

Hey buddy, did you log your car and send it to your tuner?
When I first started up my LT1, it would idle but if the MAF was connected, it would just die. I never get a cold idle even after my tune (neither did I get one before), and its because my IAC needs replacing.
I had my initial tune, it drove better, but traffic driving was difficult. Sent a log, got another tune back, improved driving. Send another log, and got another adjustment, and it runs great now. You need to be patient. My LT1 is also my 1st cammed car.
I need to replace my IAC and get some new connectors for the coil and ICM, and then get a final tune to get my car to start up without having to encourage it with some throttle.
