Default Car starts, then dies after a second..

Well I drive to chic fil a in my 93 t/a m6, just fine. get there, eat, go to leave, and notice the car is lugging down low, so i turn into a home depot, and the car dies, if i let it sit 10 seconds it'll start and run for one second, if i let it sit for 2 minutes itll run for 10 seconds... I don't know what the problem is, any idea's? Thanks.

Might be your coil that's mounted on the front of the cylinder head ( drivers side ). Mine did the same thing, but it was the opti.

may also be a cracked vacuum line off of the intake manifold. mine would fire then immediately cut off when i had a leak

check shoebox's website (HERE) for the write up on how to space the coil/ICM away from the head with washers

What mods have been done to this car? Did the dash throw an SES? Did the security light flash? I would go to the local parts store to have it scanned, My car has never lit the light even when the opti went out. Check fuel pressure. In my experience coils aren"t usually intermitten when they are done there done.

It has K&N intake, no codes thrown at all.. has 126,000 miles on it, and a small water pump leak.

I had a very similar problem in my bucket. Ended up being the VATs causing the car to die after a sec or two.

Here is thread I started with the same symtoms as yours. May or maynot be what your problem is but wouldn't hurt looking into.

Got it. I'll let the opti dry out, if that doesn't fix it i'll replace it
