Roll bar or NO roll bar....that is the question????
Well obviously I will need one per NHRA rules but I really dont want to mess up the car should If ever decide to go back to stock Now there are a few tracks that wont even blink at a 8-9sec car and tech....well there is no tech. So I can get away with it. Anyways what would you do? Im thinking its the safe thing to do and I also worried about tech at the LTXshootout.
Also what bar would you suggest?

I was in the same situation, thinking I would pob be faster then 11.49 on nitrous. I bought the wolfe bolt in 6pt. For it to be nhra legal you need to have the rear bars welded to the main hoop, but where I race tech isnt too bad and I think they'll let that slide. You sound like my dad talking about turning it back to stock at some point, lets get realistic its not going back to stock any time soon

I'm in the same boat now with the new 383 + spray that'll be going in my car in the next coupe of weeks, except my car is my DD right now. The questions I would ask are " how often are you going to race and are you class or bracket racing" or do you just run at "tnt nights"? Also are you going to spray every run or only every once in awhile? If you're going class or bracket racing then "yes" I would install a full cage Wolfe or S&W Racecars, if not then "no I wouldn't install one in a DD especially if you have kids that like to ride with you like I do.

A roll bar in a dd isnt bad at all, if you have removable swingouts, that way you just put them in when you head to the track. But like you stated if your having ppl ride in the back its a bad idea.

Removable swingouts FTW
If you're going to run faster than 11.49, you need one.
It's not an issue of rules, it's an issue of safety.
If you're still planning to run low 10s, it's a must.

Mike as a matter of personal opinion....Get one. You may not want to for whatever reason, but it's worth it. And for the guys that say you can't put kids/friends in back.... I know a guy who put two kids in car seats in the back of a thirdgen with a 12pt in it. You just have to be creative. As for which one.....it's more in the install than the manufacturer. If you get a guy who really knows his **** he can take a crap cage and make it a work of art. Maybe give Larry a call and see what his guys can do, or do some shopping. I might be able to get you a number of a guy I used (I gotta dig it up). Does phenomenal work out of his garage....professional welder. LMK if you want it....he did a 10pt cage for me for $2K installed a few years ago.....Thing was a masterpiece.

GO TO US41 ALL YEAR ROUND U WILL NEVER NEED A CAGE LOL but on the other hand Mike if you have the cash put one in or not. Just remember you have one of the nicest cars I and the world have ever seen. But remember your not the only one and there a many other people out there with a CAGE. So if you want one put it in or not. Choose your destiny wisely!

Only prob I have is my car is the 555th WS6 4th gen ever made and its a Formula WS6 M6 with 33k on it. It could be worth alot down the road. I still have the stock motor TB to pan, full suspension etc, Maybe I should buy a roller gut the **** out of it and swap everything in it.
Then again I want my car to to be the one that rips. IMO a cage is a big deal to put in this type of car.
So far my car has gone 11.6@119 and has had alot of changes since, plus I just bought a kit for it. No doubt Ill need one per the NHRA rules.

Idk man.. It may be worth a lot down the road but at the same time, you gotta pay to play.. I'm sure you know that already.
and I don't mean just money.. more like sacrifices such as putting in a cage, ripping a/c out and such. Good luck bro

Mike, if future value is a concern you should have never modded or drove it for that matter. You got a lot choices, roll bars are good for 11.0 or 135MPH, a lot of the ones out there they can removed if you so choise, new carpet later no one would have every known it was there.
