LTX Shootout and 21* Trickflow heads
#43
OP this sounds quite familiar to what I asked a few months ago

I say let them in for all classes and just allow 21* for all heads. Because if not, then why not start splitting LT1 base and LT4 base classes because the heads are structurally different as well as the manifold.

Doesn't look like I'll get to make it, so it really won't matter to me.
But, if you haven't built and raced one with heads that different, you don't realize how much power difference there is. The guys that have them, of course, want them allowed. The guys that will have to race against them will wish they had not been allowed.
Believe me, I raced sprint cars with "rolled over" (different valve angle) and every time the valve angle was reduced power went up big time. It's absolutely nothing like angle milling heads as far as power output. If it were up to me (and it's not) they would be regulated to the extreme and pa classes. I have used 21, 18 and 11 degree heads on the same engine. Power kept going up with each change as they came alone.

Currently, the only heads up classes that allow the TFS 21* head are Outlaw, Mod N/A and Mod PA. They are also allowed in the Index and Bracket classes. They are not permitted in either of the Extreme Street classes.
