i love threads like this where all GM owners are PRAISING new fords, and basically saying ford>gm, arent you supposed to support your favorite brand? im not hating on the fords because i think they are nice but that 5.0 must have a crappy powerband with no torque under 4000. the LS3 is IMO a far superior motor that can make tons of power everywhere in the curve with nothing but a tune and good exhaust.

Can you not read? I was refering to the statement you made saying the current camaro is slower than the 03-04 cobra. I said nothing about the GT500.

I just wish GM would just make a Camaro to compete with all Mustangs. I'm getting sick of people throwing in the Cobra/GT 500 etc. when people are comparing the GT to SS/Z28.

They throw it out there cause everyone knows that a GT is a suicide mission against that V8 Camaro..so they have to call in big brother.

I agree..if the Camaro came from the Factory with a Twin Screw them Cobra boys would be lookin at it a little different.

Or you can get ahold of a CTSV with the de-tuned LS9 and tune it up..it weighs about the same as the Stang..

We all know the ls3 is a badass motor, but other than the vette, it only comes in a pig of a car. Gm's downfall is not releasing this powerplant in a more budget minded, lightweight, stripped version of a fbody. I don't want all the wiegh me down bullshit options in my weekend warrior! I think right now Ford has the edge ever so slightly in this category. Again Im refeering to the cars as a whole not just the powerplant in specific. If Gm would of kept the weight to 3600lbs or less on the 5th gen, 1) They would get killer mileage, 2) run low 12's stock, 3) Be SOLD OUT nationwide.
The more wieght you try to launch, the more parts your going to break, I think this is costing some sales. Gm should of learned this after the GTO.
