First time setting up gears. Ring gear backlash is supposed to be between .008"-.010" I got .009" along with, what i think to be a pretty damn good gear pattern. What yall think?
I only ran the ring around twice. Shoulda done more. Ill double check it when i finalize the pinion gear torque down specs

So i adjusted the shims alittle bit and brought the ring away from the pinion by .005" this is what i got.
It brought it over a very tiny amount but still managed a backlash of .010" which is within its limits. How do they look?

I forgot to drill a hole for the breather so before i locked down the carrier i drilled through the top of the pumpkin and threaded it. I then took a piece of threaded rod, drilled it out, and am now useing it to support my brake line and to vent the dif
Just for ***** and giggles
Im very happy. I managed to get good work done despite all thats happened. My girlfriend totaled her car on our way to canada for our vacation... So its been a big worry of mine to find her a replacement. Next week will yield more results on this!
