You're like the rear end MacGyver dude. This is awesome and I'll keep checking in. Looks like it's going to be a hell of an amazing rear and I hope I have the opportunity to build one like this soon!

Thanks for the compliment! If i can get to work today (1" of ice evreywhere) i plan on welding in some gussets to reinforce the box. When thats done i do finish welding to the support tube and send it away to get acid bathed and sandblasted.

If that support tube is the only welding needed for the T/A mount, is there any chance you will make this bracket available for sale? There are alot of guys just itching to toss an 8.8 into their cars, they are so plentiful and cheap to build.

Are you going to keep ABS/TCS (assuming your car has it)?

For my particular pumpkin, the support tube is the only thing that will get welded. Which is going to be welded to the tube, and to the side of the TA mount. I wanted to avoid any welding to the case housing, despite being able to do it... Being able to mass produce something like this would be possible. It would just require the same setup pumpkin (to make all the brackets the same) and someone capable of welding the tube to it.

It shouldnt cost alot. It would just depend on which pumpkin (center section) people were to get.

I think you'll be pleased with it. Mine was to the cast housing but its still very stout.

My next step is to go to a 31 spline explorer carrier with a f150 S spring and to get a set of moser axles.

Looks good excited to see the install pics!

I just bought my 8.8, 31-Spline Carrier, 4.10 gears, Master Rebuild Kit, and the parts are starting to pile up lmao! I have my new brakes on standby. Next up is getting everything put together, buying the C-Clip Eliminators, the Moser axles, and my ABS Delete/Line Lock kit! I have a guy who is going to work up the Tq arm mount for me but it is all a project lol. I like what you have tho, how heavy is that Tq arm piece you think??

I just need to get confirmation on what Driveshaft Conversion Joint I need lol. That is the only piece I am confused about lol.

Aslong as it fits in the car and doesnt have any serious issues. i cant see how i wont be happy. I spent top dollar for parts. ford 31 spline torsen diff, moser axles with 2 bolt patterns, strange 1350 transmission and diff yokes. i still need to get a drive shaft... ahh the fun of custom stuff!

Id say the torque arm mount weighs aroung 5 lbs or so for everything. IDC about weight anymore i just want strength.

I believe the conversion U-joint that you need is the precision 355. I have one brand new if you need it. I was going to use it but decided to build everything like a tank and got front and rear strange yokes for 1350's

How much power will you be pushing through this approximately? I will be about 415 RWHP N/A and 565 RWHP on spray...what would you suggest for that?

My stock drive shaft worked fine, but I kept the factory 8.8 flange yoke and used the driveshaft yoke off of an explorer.

My build was kinda a budget build, I ended up with around $100 in mine after trading parts any what not. All I had invested was time and bearings/oil/seals.

Helps that I had the tools and got the 3 donor rear ends for an engine I traded that I had nothing in, the mustang 28 spline carrier Ive been abusing was loaned/given to me from a friend.

Im happy with it, 1.58 60ft so far and I plan on spraying it this spring, Im sure the factory 10 bolt axles are begging for mercy

Yeah i dont see the 8.8 having Any issues as far as handling power. Plenty of people have been running them in camaro's. Let alone all the other mustangs that are running them with big numbers and no complaints....

Quick Reply: So i Finally bought an 8.8!
