Although I agree with you, there's another BIG reason for this deal "going south", and it's not a cluttered shop.... I'm not trying to be insulting, but in my opinion, "boostedpower" doesn't YET posess the experience and knowledge to be engaging in a job that has this many potential pitfalls, apparently all by himself.
Setting the valvelash, for example, is actually simple....for someone who has done it a number of times. However, taking on a major overhaul, and asking a question such as, "How do I set the preload?", indicates a lack of overall experience...In other words, a recipe for an expensive disaster.
Yes, you can get a LOT of information from this type of website, and most of it is correct. However, you can't teach someone "feel", for instance, when setting valve lash. You need an experienced person to A) show you how to do it, while B) demonstrating the technique, and C) overseeing you do the remaining 15 valves. THAT'S how you learn.....
