Me and everybody else have been telling you what to do. You already have the motor out of the car do yourself the favor and pull the heads, rod ends, and main caps to check everything out. If everything is good put it back together and you'll only be out like $50 for a set of head gaskets and at least you'll know its all ok. Other then that I think everyone else is done trying to help we're telling you what to do and you don't listen

Better listen to them. You got it out of the car. If it were me I would re-ring it and put in rods and mains no matter what they looked like since the engine is sittine in front of you. New front and rear seals. Hell, you would have a new engine!

Uhhh, no. Rebuilding the engine doesn't make it "forged" LOL...

He would need forged internals for that don't ya think

383 time? whats the best performing cheapest kit and is there a gasket kit, so blown at this point! I'm taking the heads off now since everything is out I am thinking about one of the cheaper 383 kits and going with a bigger cam like a cc306, anyone know any good and price friendly 383 kits, now that the bottom end is being rebuilt what can i do for big power gains? Its like im starting over, I want you guys to put together a price friendly/ High HP weekend-to- semi daily driver for me and i will build it... I have about 1800 to spend and i already have the hot cam and everything that comes with the kit!

You better be ready to open up you wallet 1800 will maybe cover your machine work. The eagle forged 383 is the cheapest one and its about 1700. When I added everything up for mine with all the gaskets injectors everything I was looking at about 7k. And please do everybody a favor and get somebody who actually knows what they are doing to do everything for you or you might as well flush it down the ******* if your going to be doing the work

I would just use 383 rods and weld the ends together. That makes a stock block a 396 if you use the marine pistons.

Put vortec heads and a lunati jackhammer cam and that thing will haul. This is the setup Tony Stewart and most of the fast guys are running. That and nitrous / helium injection

HAHAHA yes you can get a cast kit cheaper but the machine work will cost the same either way. You asked for a price with all supporting mods. I did forged bottom end, new oil pan pickup and pump, ported and polished heads, a good cam, new lifters, push rods, ported intake, 58mm throttle body bigger injectors, all the gaskets rings and seal, and the the little things I missed and I was in right at $7000. So no matter what you can't have it done for 1800 period

Don't expect to make big power with that. Did you read the cast parts are only good to 500 hp
