Knock module bypass

Knock module bypass So iv been told about this bypass and im willing to give it a try untill i can get a lt4 knock module but I can't seem to find anymore info on it.
From what i understand I take a 1000ohms resistor and loop it into the knock sensor wire then ground it out.
anyone else have any luck in this?
the idea is for a 93 oct. car that will be driving 3-5 days a week cam only.

you need a resistor with the same ohms as the knock sensor...
so a 3.9k resistor will work....
you will run the wire from the PCM to one side of the resistor and the other side to a ground...pretty easy..
only difference is he ran a switch so he could turn the knock sensor on and off...but this gives you and idea how to wire it..

Verdad Gallardo Um yes it does, it has everything to do with the tuner. Bypassing the knock module is rediculous. A competent tuner can tune out false knock. You think the lt4 km can't have false knock too? It can and would need to be addressed in the tune as well.
Yea its really like a band aid for knock...and if you get bad fuel or really have knock it will not detect it anymore and we all know what happens then...
But to each his own I suppose.....

resistor I still run the lt1 km ,I think I might try the two way switch and resistor and try it at the track with good gas,If I do I will post some results,but track only it could be a +?
Do you guys not ******* understand that if it makes a difference either
A) you had false knock and you need to address it PROPERLY.
or
B) you are preventing the PCM from seeing actual knock so it CAN NOT pull timing to PROTECT the engine. I bet you can feel a difference. All that detonation is badass for track times.
Geez people. Why dont you start running 15:1+ air fuel ratio bypass mod. I bet that would haul ***.

BTW, since it has not been said in this thread, the LT4KM is not discontinued.

My car was seeing between 2-5 degrees of knock retard betweem 4000 to 5000 rpm consistantly from my lt4 full roller rockers. I also have a 93 TA...I tried the module bypass and it did not work for me. I would go to the track and run 13.48 on my practice runs, but when it came to eliminations the car would slow down .2 tenths and I would lose...this went on for 2 seasons, so I sent my chip back to pcmforless and had them tune it out...whem I put the chip back in and went back to the track there was a major improvement especially noticable through 2nd gear. The car hit 13.48 in 6 seperate runs and I won the event for 300 bucks. I dont hear any audible knock but thats not saying that it isnt there...but I know I am playing with fire. I plan on putting 75-100 shot on it so I will have to turn it back on right.
