Default 11.04 @ 122 - Stupid LT1!!

I'm so close to 10s...it's driving me nuts.

Went to Cecil County Raceway in MD tonight. Had good air (about 60-degrees at the time of the two runs I did make before getting booted for no cage) and okay track prep.

Two days ago, I finished the install of my Wolfe rear solid swaybar, which, IMO, is hands down the best suspension modification a drag racer could do. When properly adjusted, the car leaves straight as an arrow. Before, I had alot of left-hand pull while the car meandered down the track. That's a thing of the past. 60's tonight were 1.54 and 1.57 (best to date is a 1.52) respectively, spinning just a bit each time.

Someone else filmed the 11.04 run, so I'll post the vid of that once it's available. Here's a video of the second run of the night, an 11.11.

For those that don't know, the car is an AI heads/cam/383 + bolt-ons through a 4L60E and Ford 9". Still untuned and still under-geared.

Yea, real stupid, you should sell it. Are you under geared intentionally, for say nitrous down the line? Next buy a Wolfe roll bar in the car so you can run it in some more stuff, that car would do well in tons of events/classes.

I put the 3.90s in 4 years ago when I was bolt-on, cam, and stock bottom end. At the time they made sense, but they don't marry so well to the new setup. 4.30s or 4.56s would be much better. I don't plan on any nitrous in the immediate future.

I already have the Wolfe roll cage - just need to have it installed.

Work on that 60' and you'll be in the 10s easy. Tons of room for improvement in the 60'. Your car has a lot of potential left in it, don't get discouraged!

Mine did that, I was stuck at 11.02 for a few trips.

I have a 4.10 with a 28 tire, it goes through the trpas at about 6700-6900 depending on da.

I would go a 4.30 with a 28 tall tire.

Keep pickin at it, GET A DAMN TUNE.....quit messin around. You spent all that money on the car, spend $500 and get a tune.

So quick question... Why have you not had it tuned? I picked up a decent amount of power with my AI package after I had it tuned.

Because there aren't many places around here that are reputable with LT1s. Bryan @ PCMforless seems to have the knack the most, and he only comes out to the NJ area once every few weeks. I missed the last time he was out because of a few bugs with the car.

Once he's in the area though, I'll have him take care of it.

very nice results

why race the car untuned?

I would not say a 3.90/26' tire is way under geared. The converter is most important with an auto IMO v's a gear. I run a 3.73/28" tire and as most most know my car runs hard. 1.38 60ft , 126 mph and approx 6600 out the back door. I was going to make a gear swap last year, but after talking to a few knowlegable friends/racers and Yank it would not be work it.

I'm sure a 4.10-4.30 with a 28" tire would pick you up some. I would get the tune and try a 28" tire before making a gear swap. I would also monitor shift extension and consult with your converter guy before a gear change.

again congrats at cracking away at that 10 sec mark

Ok I'm with ya now. I couldn't figure out why you built such a monster and didn't have it tuned. I would bet my bankroll you hit 10's after a good tune. What were your dyno #'s again??

Cecil is a great track for this time of year. Good show. If it were me I'd chance a 27" tire and a 4.30 gear instead of going 28.
