Default M6 Guys over 500whp, Clutch Options/Opinions?

What clutches do you guys use? How do they feel?

I like the Mcloed Twin disk, it seems like a really nice unit and the price point is right for a clutch like that.

So, if you have any real world experience then post up!

I don't have a ton of experience with different clutches but Ive had to make this decision myself recently. I'm going with the competition stage 2 clutch. Good for 550 and appears that it would drive close to stock. They have 2.5 and 3 4 and 5 s well. I just wanted clutch that would still modulate out the hole but not slip on the nitrous. I think the stage 2 will do it.

Street twin is tard heavy, tard expensive, etc.

A well-built single clutch should have no problem 500rwhp.

700+ then yes I would consider a multi disk. JMO

I have one of the bigger competition clutchs and it has no problem holding 500+hp on slicks pass after pass.

I picked the Street Twin after talking with Ellis. 10,000 miles so far, it drives like the stock clutch on the street and I should have one less thing to worry about breaking when I hit the track.

I know a few guys with the Mcleod Twin and they are making big power with little uses, albeit they are LSx guys though. But power/torque is the same on any engine.

If possible, post your power made through the clutch too! I am thinking ill be around 460 ish to the tire on motor and closer to 700 on dope.

Tony.

I was pleased with the way the Spec 3+ engaged/held before my rear main seal busted a nut. I have a RAM that is going in next and am confident that'll be enough to hold for awhile at least.

I absolutely love my Street Twin!!! It drives like stock on the street and has enough grip to bust a main shaft at the track, ask me how I know . Never chattered from day one. I would highly recommend it! I lost about 9 rwhp going from stock to the ST due to the extra weight is the only negitive.

Mcleod steel. Kinda wish I went with the aluminum, but figured The steel would get the car off the line better at my weight.

Listen to this guy he is right. I have the street twin with aluminum flywheel and it is a bad sumbitch. But on motor its over kill . Our power is about the same. I would just spend the $ and put the street twin in if your gonna spray.

HOPE ur tranny is built though that street twin ate the **** out my T56 before it was built.

I have just about completed the break in miles on my spec 3+. I absoluetly love it! holds great and drives amazing. chattering makes you think you cant drive for awhile though... but within 200 miles after you put it in, it starts to go away.

The street twin is a nice clutch, but I feel that in first and second it feels like an on /off switch. I think it is an excellant clutch for the money.

I have a spec stage 4 and I love it but it's really on/off alot of people wont want to daily drive it but I don't have too much of a problem. IMO stay away from the ram power grip hd I had one and only put 2000 miles on it then put my new motor in and it didn't hold for one dyno pull
