cam motion, but not sure if they are cheap. BTW crane is non existent now. I am sure the grinds get sent to comp from LE, (or at least they were)

You could do some looking it the Non-ls part classifieds. I found about 3-4 there this past week. That would be about your cheapest= used. Was there a specific company that was a lot cheaper on LTx cams?

Well custom cams typically go for $250 or higher. SO is there any company who does it for cheaper?

LE uses Bullet Cams, maybe check them out since he charges $300 for a cam through them there has to be some profit in the middle

I hate to say it but why try to save money on a significant engine part (both for reliability and performance) that costs at most $400.

Just my take though.

But yeah you have Bullet and Cam Motion, like others said.

Crower makes about the best cams but they are not cheap.
You only get what you pay for.

Lots of small local shops grind custom cams or re-grind the desired profile on a stock cam. But a regrind takes the case hardning out so if it isn't a roller (a flat tappet) it will be susceptable to premature wear. Have to agree w/the posters above that a good used stick is your best bet.

I wouldnt do a regrind. There is a thread around here somewhere about an epic fail involving a regrind on a stock cam.

CamMotion is who we use for our customs. Best around. You might be able to get comp to do one cheap if you use a cast core like all the OTS cams, but anything on a steel core is going to be $330-$400

Default Regrind

Delta Cam does regrinds. Call them and find out if they have a grind you want, then you send them your core and they will make it. The cam cost ~$125.

I will be getting a 204/204 @114 .56/.56 for a rearmount. The limit of the regrind is the core you send, iron headed LT1 cams will be tougher to get higher lift and might have trouble with what you want versus what they have.

The cam is not a problem friends and I have run ~20 of them and no problems. If you install any cam wrong you will have problems. I have seen on line where people break an opti is it the opti's fault? No, it is usually some idiot has no clue how to do a task then blames the part.

Good luck

Mine is custom from Erson...Think it was $200ish, but that was 5 years ago...I have the cam card so I'm sure it can be duplicated...

yup... although, I'd be more concerned about all the work I'd be putting into swapping a cam only to have mediocre performance gains or worse, have it fail. Well, unless your planning on slapping together an unreliable motor that you just want to sound cool in order to sell it really fast...

Federal mogul makes "speedpro" cams. dont know about pricing vs. others but, just one more to check out.
