Default Freeze plug for timing cover (electric water pump)

Well, 3 auto parts stores in town, 1 hardware store and nothing will fit.

5/8" was too small and 3/4" was too big. I'm guessing 11/16" will fit or maybe a metric?

Also, any good place for getting them?

Are you talking about plugging the hole for the drive pin?

I'm not sure what size freeze plug you need but on the first one I ever did I used two flat washers a short bolt, flat washer, lock washer, lock nut and some JB weld. Iremoved the wp seal from the timing cover and cleaned it real good then put jb weld on one side of each large flat washer and sandwiched them on either side of the hole with the jb weld sides facing each other. Then I put the bolt with a flat washer under the head, thru the hole in the washers with the jb weld then put on the lock nut and tightened it and let it cure for a couple of days. I never had any leaks nor did the bolt come loose, and you can put some jb weld under the bolt head and on the threads for added security.

i used a freeze plug and sanded it down some.....put it in and put gastek maker around the inside to make sure it didn't leak....been good for 1yr so far...

But the quarter and jb weld sounds like it would be easy enough and work well

This is when you turn your water pump to a electric water pump. OR you add a double roller timing chain. But you still need a elec. pump.

,.......i know,i got the idea on what has to be done to the timing cover,im asking when you install and elec pump on old water pump what has to be done to the pump?
also do you just remove the drive gear from behind the cover and nothing go's in its place ,bolts, plug ,ect..just remove gear and close hole on cover?

You can either take off the cover and remove the drive gear or leave it in. I would recommend removing it.

The pump needs to come off and the internals taken out with a punch (bearings, impeller). The hole in the back of the waterpump is plugged and the motor bolts into the housing. See pic:
