Default high compression

anyone running 11.8-12.1 compression on the street without any problemes of detnation.

Static compression doesn't determine "streetability" or "probability of detonation." That's the job of the dynamic compression ratio which incorporates camshaft valve events paralleled with static compression dimensions.

For what it's worth, I'm running 12.6:1 static, 9.6:1 dynamic on 93 octane with 0 KR.

I'm running 12.1:1 SCR and no issues with pump gas

No problems here... I assume I am close with stock deck height, 11.1 flat tops w -5cc reliefs and impala gaskets. If anyone wants to calculate that up be my guest!

i ran 13-1 on one of my old motors..from 93 to 114 was 5-7 degree diff in timing.

not my lt1 but my 80TA with a gen 1 SBC i run 13:1 on the street with 93 pump gas

11.16 with 54cc chamber heads...

13:1 on a carbed? engine, with normal flowing heads? Seems way high for that.

With that being said, 12:1 93 here.

yes a carb sbc. yea norm coolent flowing heads. but the car runs fine at 13:1 on 93 pump gas. but its a very small street friendly cam. iv had the timing up to 36 and no knocking. and plugs come out looking great! oh and i have a very good cooling system!

good deal with a -5 flat top and 54cc heads and gasket i was told ill be at 12.1 on a 383 how long after inital start up should i wait too get it dyno tuned im afraid to drive and im putting a 3500 chip in the msd if i drive it

you have to seat the rings, mine is being broken in on the dyno
